JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

The Department Performance Improvement Coordinator (DPIC) function is established to promote organizational learning and improvement through line ownership and execution of performance improvement programs.  The DPIC is to support department managers in their execution of the Entergy Standardized Fleet procedures, processes and software tools used to implement key programs for Corrective Action Program (CAP), Self –Assessment/Benchmarking, Trending, and Performance Improvement in their organization.
 
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITES:
Department Performance Improvement Coordinators (DPIC) are responsible for:
a. Being the point of contact for the Corrective Action Program (CAP) and assisting with implementation of the requirements of EN-LI-102.
b. Entering into PCRS and/or the CRG Utility recommendations on CR assignment and significance classification prior to screening meeting.
c. Entering into PCRS and/or the CRG Utility recommendations on trend codes (system, equipment & component, reference items, etc.) for CRs assigned to their department prior to the screening meeting. [QAPM A.6.e]
d. Ensuring CRs involving human performance issues are properly identified and human performance trend data is entered into PCRS
e. Maintaining an awareness of the status of CRs & CAs owned by their department to ensure actions are completed by the due date or extended appropriately.
f. Performing Responsible Manager closure reviews for Category ‘C’ CRs when designated by the Responsible Manager.
g. Performing a final CR Quality check prior to electronic CR closure review for CRs assigned to their department as allowed by EN-LI-102 after all CR closure reviews are complete and documented. Ensure trend codes are accurately assigned per EN-LI-121-01 requirements.
h. Acting as the cause analysis point of contact to assist in managing the timeline within the requirements of this procedure.
i. Completing a training Job Familiarization Guide, FFAM-CAA-DPIC, Department Performance Improvement Coordinator (DPIC).
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum education required of the position
B.S. Degree in Engineering or other closely related scientific discipline/physical science generally associated with power plant operations or equivalent work experience (equivalent experience defined as demonstrated success at the engineer/technical specialist level.)


Minimum experience required of the position
Engineer II- 2-4 years experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent depending upon engineering/technical specialist level.
Engineer III- 3-5 years experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent depending upon engineering/technical specialist level.

Engineer Sr- 4-6 years experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent depending upon engineering/technical specialist level.


Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
Technical proficiency in the assigned area. Technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operation. Proficiency with current computer business applications.


Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position
SRO or certification on BWR or PWR (desired).
