Ensures proper and comprehensive project controls are implemented on the portfolio of Grid Modernization projects including, but not limited to, the AMI, EAM, Distribution Automation and Customer Digital projects. Ensures deliverables in the area of benefits and cost, schedule, scope and risk are developed in line with the requirements of the Stage Gate Process.   Ensures that cost reporting and cost records support project management requirements, accounting requirements and cost recovery.  Supports the project control managers with decisions associated with controls on projects and review project status reports and performance metrics as projects progress.  Provides support throughout the project lifecycle.



Leads a team of analysts that provide cost and benefit support to Grid Modernization Project Managers (PMs) and Project Controls Managers (PCMs.)  Support includes development of benefit cases, development of cost estimates, financial analysis, tracking of costs, working with PMs and PCMs to forecast estimate to complete (ETC) reporting of monthly present estimates, and monthly cost reporting.


Ensures project controls are implemented on assigned capital projects in line with Management Standards and Stage Gate Process requirements.


Collaborates closely with project management to assess estimate accuracy and address any gaps, identify project risks and develop mitigation plans, and identify project issues and formulate plans to address the issues.


Collaborates closely with FBP to ensure that cost forecasts are structured to integrate into overall company financial forecasts.  Collaborates closely with property accounting to ensure that projects are structured and costs are accounted for properly, in accordance with GAAP requirements, and to support cost recovery.


Reviews and validates project cost status reports and cost performance metrics for all assigned projects.


Works with PMs, PCMs and Schedulers to provide information and reports related to project actual cost progress, estimates at completion and compliance with project controls standards to executives and to project steering committees. Provides input to progress reports filed with regulatory bodies.


Identifies gaps in Entergy's project control environment and takes proactive steps to implement improvements and strengthen controls.

Minimum education required of the position
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Accounting, Finance or related field or equivalent work experience.

Minimum experience required of the position
7 years of project management experience preferably in Utility.

Project controls experience desired both Owner and Contractor. 

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
Expert knowledge of the fundamentals of scheduling, cost control, and risk management. Working knowledge of scheduling software packages and related analytics. Superior skills with spreadsheet based analytics. Knowledge of project and construction management fundamentals. Critical Thinking -- Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Complex Problem Solving -- Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

Desired: Individual should have strong knowledge in Project schedule, cost controls and risk management and should have 3 + years of experience on Mega Projects of $200M and greater.  This individual should have at minimum 5 yrs. of proven managerial experience with direct reports and will need to be a good fit to meet the needs of a growing high functioning group. 

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position
Desired: PMP Certification and/or CPA.
