JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary job responsibilities are to provide high performance professional staff support in varied technical activities including but not limited to:

  • Analysis and support for development of rate design for all Entergy Operating Companies, including base rates and riders (ex., Storm Reserve Riders and EAI Rider PCA)
  • Acquisition, development and analysis of customer usage information in support of test year revenues and Cost-of-Service allocation of factors used in regulatory rate filings for all Entergy Operating Companies;
  • Provide written and oral testimony in support of revenues, allocation factors, and other rate design issues in regulatory proceedings;
  • Support the Manager of Utility Pricing and Analysis to ensure Operating Companies and corporate needs and objectives are met to support regulatory filings and analysis as requested.       
  • Support Customer Experience, Energy Efficiency, DSM, Lighting and other Company initiatives;
  • Support Economic Development initiatives;
  • Support section activities necessary for implementation of new rates or changed billing processes in the Customer Care System;
  • Perform research and analysis to evaluate potential rate design solutions and recommendations to address emerging and changing market conditions (DSM, Energy Efficiency, MISO and other changes) and/or customer issues;
  • Provide support of witnesses in rate case proceedings by completing and/or coordinating the completion of written testimony, minimum filing requirement schedules, exhibits and/or workpapers;
  • Prepare responses to data requests and other discovery requirements;
  • Design rates in the context of a rate case or for special purpose tariffs; site specific contracts, etc.;
  • Provide typical bill calculations, best fit rate comparison for new and existing customers.
  • Support resolution of issues of regulatory proceedings involving Entergy Operating Companies;
  • Monitor rate related issues in various regulatory environments;
  • Ensure that all workpapers, filing documents, testimony, and data request responses are adequately reviewed for accuracy in a complete and timely manner.
  • Assists in the training and development of staff, ensuring staff is cross-trained and developed in overall rate case development.
  • Complete other ad hoc analysis as needed.

 

Minimum education required of the position

Bachelor’s degree related field or equivalent experience. Math, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Accounting or related fields preferred. Degree is strongly preferred.

 

Minimum experience required of the position
5-7 years

Minimum 3 years' experience in electric utility industry.

 

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position

  • Knowledgeable of utility industry and regulatory practices.
  • Understanding of rate-making principals/rate regulation is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and project management skills.
  • Self-starter and requires little or no supervision.
  • Ability to guide staff in the development of models and analytics.
  • Ability to perform detailed analysis and convert this analysis into meaningful summary for which to make recommendations.
  • Ability to work effectively on multiple assignments.
  • Flexible and able to adjust to changing priorities.
  • Willing and able to perform other duties as required and learn new processes and technologies.
  • Able to work under pressure as a result of deadlines beyond control of the work group.
  • Advanced skills utilizing Microsoft Office and applicable mainframe business applications.
  • Proficiency in customer information systems including CCS and BW is highly desirable.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
