Job Summary/Purpose

Conducts routine engineering activities and ensures the safety of nuclear components at all Entergy Nuclear plants.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

1. Ensures engineering work is performed and programs implemented consistent with defined standards.

2. Develops, plans and coordinates or implements special projects, corrective action plans and improvement programs to address plant problems or regulatory sensitive issues.

3. Initiates and executes frequent exchanges with others to achieve desired results.

4. Ensures fleet lessons are learned and good practices are implemented.

5. Controls engineering costs through maximization of resources and tracking of expenditures within budget parameters. Maintains design bases of the plant.

6. Oversees development of drawings, specifications and detailed design for fabrication of new and modification of existing plant equipment and systems. Evaluates and selects optimum design alternatives.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum education required of the position

B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or other engineering degree generally associated with power plant operations in the field of civil and structural design or equivalent work experience.

Minimum experience required of the position

Engineer I: 0-2 years experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent experience.
Engineer II: 2-4 years experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent experience.
Engineer III: 4-6 years experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent experience.
Engineer Sr: 6+ years experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent experience.

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position

Technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operation. Knowledge of pipe stress analysis including pipe supports, piping minimum wall calculations and structural and seismic analysis. Outstanding communication, conflict management, and change management skills.

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required of the position

Desired: SRO license or certification on a PWR or BWR; Professional Engineering license.
