Job Summary/Purpose

Design Projects is a provider of technical services to the Entergy nuclear fleet.  The organization focuses on delivering effective modification packages on time and within budget to support power generation.  Design integrity is maintained through effective configuration control of design output documents (i.e., specifications, calculations, drawings, test requirements, and procedures).

                                                                                                                                                    

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Provide cost-effective modification designs when required to improve plant, system or equipment performance.
  • Provide technical support to operations, maintenance, engineering, and other site organizations as required.
  • Support safe, reliable operation by identifying and effectively resolving issues via the corrective action and work management processes.
  • Develop and review engineering products in accordance with defined standards and procedures.
  • Work on project teams as assigned.
  • Serve on outage engineering support teams as assigned.
  • Attend training and maintain qualifications necessary to perform required group functions.
  • Work safely in industrial and radiologically controlled environments.

 

Minimum Requirements

Minimum education required of the position

B.S. Degree in Engineering or other closely related scientific discipline / physical science generally associated with power plant operations, or equivalent work experience (equivalent experience is defined as demonstrated success at the Engineer / Technical level.

 

Minimum experience required of the position

Engineer III: 4+ years experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent, depending upon engineering level.

Engineer Sr: 6+ years experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent, depending upon engineering level.

 

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position

Design Engineering is the design authority and owner of the design bases. The organization focuses on the design of baseline modifications and design basis control and maintenance. Design integrity is maintained through effective configuration control of design output documents (i.e., specifications, calculations, drawings, test requirements, and procedures).
