Job Summary/Purpose

The Vice President, Shared Services serves as the senior enterprise leader responsible for delivering standardized, scalable, and high‑performing services that enable Entergy’s business strategy and operational resilience. This role leads an enterprise-wide service organization of 800+ geographically dispersed employees and contractors, ensuring consistent, customer‑centric support across all operating companies and functions. The VP oversees Real Estate & Facilities, Aviation Services, Finance Operations, Compliance & Governance, Reporting & Analytics, and enterprise programs including supplemental labor, travel & expense, payroll, and accounts payable.

 

A cornerstone of this role is driving enterprise transformation and measurable business outcomes—modernizing processes, elevating service quality, strengthening cost discipline, and enabling data‑driven decision‑making. The VP must be a commercially driven leader with strong financial and business acumen, capable of leading complex, diverse enterprise‑wide functions.

 

Critically, this leader exemplifies high-impact leadership: shaping a culture of continuous improvement; championing organizational change; accelerating digital and capability development; and cultivating a resilient, engaged workforce. The VP builds talent pipelines, strengthens enterprise capabilities, and aligns Shared Services performance with strategic business priorities to deliver sustained value and long-term impact.

 

Job Duties / Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Innovation: Set vision and direction for Shared Services; promote digital enablement, automation (AI, RPA) and continuous improvement across service towers, fostering a culture that rewards experimentation, learning, and customer‑centric design.
  • Service Delivery: Ensure reliable, high‑quality, and cost‑effective services aligned to business needs and enterprise priorities, balancing speed with rigor and maintaining transparency on service commitments.
  • Governance & Controls: Establish clear policies and business controls; maintain compliance readiness and disciplined risk management while strengthening the internal control environment and accountability.
  • Financial Stewardship: Provide budget oversight, forecasting, and transparent cost‑to‑serve reporting; steward resources and programs to maximize value and long‑term efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Partnership: Build trusted relationships with business leaders; align on outcomes and foster cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Leadership & Talent: Model enterprise leadership; develop talent and succession pipelines, set clear expectations, and hold teams accountable to a high‑performance culture.
  • Executive Communication: Demonstrate executive presence; translate complex concepts into clear narratives for diverse stakeholders, enabling informed decisions and unified execution.

 

Minimum Requirements 

Minimum education required of the position 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, engineering, finance, or equivalent experience; MBA preferred.

 

Minimum experience required of the position 

  • 10+ years of leadership experience spanning operational, financial, and/or technology domains.

 

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position

  • Proven ability to lead transformation and deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Strong process, implementation, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills; effective leadership of cross‑functional teams.
