Entergy’s Power Generation group operates a fleet of more than 30 owned, leased, or operated natural gas, coal, oil hydro, solar and petroleum coke plants, with a total engineering capacity exceeding 20,000 megawatts. Entergy continues to build or acquire megawatts from new hydrogen capable natural gas units, solar, wind and other technologies complement its existing megawatts of nuclear, natural gas, coal, oil, hydroelectric, and solar facilities.

JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY:
Administer Entergy's Shoreline Permitting Program consistent with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) approved Shoreline Management Plan, Historic Properties Management, and license land use article for Project 271-Lakes Hamilton & Catherine. Review and process new construction, modification, and transfer permits with a customer focused but regulatory mindset.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage Entergy's real properties associated with Lakes Hamilton & Catherine and Carpenter & Remmel Dams in accordance with FERC Project 271 license including but not limited to administering leases, protecting Entergy's property rights, inspecting and settling encroachment issues. Inspect the lakes / shoreline and respond appropriately to public hazards, unauthorized encroachments and permitted facility non-compliances. Work with Company legal department on claims against the Company, enforcement of Entergy's permitting program and resolution of issues.
- Assist in the management of Entergy's ESRI based geographic information system and online shoreline permit database associated with Lakes Hamilton & Catherine
- Work with local, state and federal agencies with regulatory authority associated with the lakes to ensure compliance with FERC license in the areas of nuisance vegetation management, fisheries management, environmental protection, historic properties protection, public safety, and public recreation. Coordination of public safety awareness on the lakes and around the dams. Participate in the Hydro Operations Emergency Response Team and in area community events such as coordination of litter clean-up events
- Work with Realtors, title companies, home inspectors and the general public on shoreline permit inquiries. Learn to evaluate proposed and existing facilities using GIS, Entergy's guidelines, land ownership information and previous permitting history. Innovatively look for ways to improve shoreline management processes and increase efficiency. Cross train with other Hydro Operations personnel to create and maintain a flexible and versatile environment were roles and responsibilities could change as need dictates
- Oversee and supervise maintenance of Entergy's parks associated with Entergy's lakes. Supervise contractors as Contract Manager in various areas such as park maintenance, lake debris/hazard removal, timber management and surveying. Work and cooperate with local, state & federal agencies in the management of their parks associated with Lakes Hamilton & Catherine
- Interface with the public on all matters associated with lake related issues. Work with Company corporate communications department on public relations matters, news releases and the publishing of a lakefront property owner newsletter
- Conduct field inspections of Entergy property, and facilities on Entergy property, both by land and on water. This includes safely navigating hillsides, unlevel terrain and moving in and around obstacles, and safely operating company vehicles & boats.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum education:
- Lakes & Property Coordinator I: Bachelor's Degree preferred or relevant work experience
- Lakes & Property Coordinator II-Sr: Bachelor's Degree Env/Nat Resources/Real Estate/Business preferred or relevant work experience
Minimum experience:
- Lakes & Property Coordinator I: 0 to 2 years’ experience with or without technical degree
- Lakes & Property Coordinator II-III: 4 to 6 years’ experience without technical degree, 2-4 years’ experience with technical degree
- Lakes & Property Coordinator Sr: 6+ years’ experience with or without technical degree
- Desired:
- Experience working with the public or customer service experience
- Regulatory compliance experience
- GIS experience (ESRI)
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Excellent verbal and technical writing communication skills, high customer focus competencies, excellent conflict and negotiation skills
