Job Summary/Purpose:
Provides first line supervision of Entergy full time and temporary Radiation Protection Operations personnel in a safe, productive manner. Supervises the daily RP Operations tasks including on shift activities. Manages multiple and possibly conflicting priorities.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Is proficient at managing a multi-disciplined group possibly including union and contractor oversight.
- Maintains an excellent understanding of the work management process. Functions as a team leader. Assists in the RP budget development and function within the budget.
- Communicates with all levels of the organization including representing the department at all meetings.
- Ensures assigned tasks are performed as safely and efficiently as possible. Proposes time saving tooling and work methods.
- Ensures all RP activities are performed within regulatory and procedural guidelines.
- Manages personnel and resolves employee conflict or concerns. Interfaces with other Entergy sites to maximize resource sharing of RP personnel. Interfaces with regulatory and industry representatives on behalf of station activities. Communicates technical Radiation Protection information, concepts, and ideas verbally and in writing. Participates in the shared resources program. Serves as a member of the Emergency Response Organization.
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum education required for the position:
- B.S. in Engineering or related technical degree may be credited for 3 years of experience or equivalent work experience.
Minimum experience required for the position:
- Candidates for this position must meet requirements specified in ANSI/ANS Standards and Regulatory Guidelines. In addition, site Technical Specifications, FSAR, or procedures may contain additional requirements. Hiring Managers are required to submit attachment 9.1 from EN-HR-137 for any candidate selected for this job. ANSI Section 4.3.2 - Supervisors Not Requiring NRC Licenses: High School Diploma or equivalent. 4 years of experience in craft or discipline he/she supervises.
- At least 5 years of experience in RP Operations.
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position:
- Technical proficiency in the RP Operations area. Technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operation. Proficiency with current computer business applications. The ANSI requirement (4.3.2)
