Job Summary/Purpose:
Role is responsible for providing support to Utility Operations Safety day-to-day operations and team projects. UO Safety is tasked with developing, delivering, maintaining, observing, and coaching safety policies and procedures. Role will require building and maintaining partnerships with within distribution operations and other support functions to properly facilitate the development and continuous improvement of the Safety and Occupational Health Management System.
 
Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Provides support to Utility Operations Safety day-to-day tasks
Limited travel to work sites within Entergy service territories
Support the Development, Delivery and Deployment of assigned safety program components
Analyze and monitor observation tools, indicators and actions related to safety observation program
Participate in safety event analysis and learning studies
Participate in System Incident Response efforts as a part of the Entergy Incident Command Structure as assigned
participate in Contractor Safety process deployment
 
Minimum Education required of the position:
Must be actively pursuing an undergrad or master’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Public Health or related field
Cumulative GPA of a 3.0 or higher is required (on a 4.0 scale)
 
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position:
General industrial safety and occupational health knowledge
Self-starter with strong analytical and communication skills
Must be proficient in MS office tools - Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Excellent organizational skills
Strong and positive team attitude and interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritize work and to handle multiple tasks
Ability to understand scope and objective of each assignment

EEI Testing:

One way that Entergy has found to identify and assess the abilities and skills needed for certain jobs is through pre-employment testing.
