Note: This is an onsite role based out of the Service Center in Little Rock, AR. Candidates from outside the area would be expected to relocate for this role; relocation assistance is not available for this posting. This position will be filled as a Warehouse Helper, Warehouse Helper Over 1 year or Storekeeper- 1st Year based on experience.
Job Purpose and Scope:
This role is responsible for receiving, shipping, packaging, labeling, and performing cycle counts for materials within our Transmission/Substation Warehouse. Supporting service centers across the territory – TX, LA, & MS. Using established material‑handling practices, this role also ensures the safe, organized, and efficient placement of materials throughout the warehouse and yard areas.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Unload and accept shipments of material, parts, supplies, and equipment, checking for damage and matching packing list with purchase order.
- Operate forklifts, overhead cranes and various other lifting and hauling devices to transport or relocate large or heavy items.
- Prepare receiving reports, record data in appropriate Maximo
- Preparation of materials and supplies for shipment from warehouse
- Place materials received in holding area, or store in designated location or bin.
- Check availability status on requested store items, locate material and issue to requestor
- Perform general cleaning and housekeeping duties in all areas of warehouse and yard
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Accurately pick materials for shipment to customer.
- Determine container for pick and pack.
- Be available for out-of-town storm response due to providing support to TX, LA, & MS.
Education and Experience required for this position:
High school graduate or equivalent.
Preferred knowledge and experience for this position:
- Shipping procedures
- Maximo computer functions terminology, and operations
- Inventory control, storage concepts, and methods
- Warehouse safety and security practices and procedures
- Knowledge of forklift/pallet jack safety
- Knowledge of MSDS sheets
- Knowledge of use of shrink-wrap machine
- Knowledge in use of PPE’s
- Knowledge of warehouse work practices
This position is designated as a Safety Sensitive position and is subject to mandatory pre-employment and random drug testing
