Job Summary/Purpose

Reporting to the Manager of Data Governance, the AI Data Governance Analyst will be part of the Enterprise Data Strategy and Governance team within the AI organization which is responsible for the development and implementation of strategy, compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures to help ensure that Entergy’s data landscape is trusted, secure, and governed. The AI Data Governance Analyst will accomplish through a combination of quality reporting, policy compliance auditing, data strategy development, and more.

The Analyst will work closely with partners both within and outside the AI department to develop an enterprise data strategy and governance that will deliver sustainable value to the business. The Analyst will also support the Enterprise Data Strategy and Governance team’s collaborative effort with cross-functional teams that include business leaders, legal, regulatory, security, IT, audit, and ethics teams to review data strategies solutions, develop implementation guidelines and checklists to guide data stewards and owners, identify risk mitigation options, and produce reports on compliance with relevant regulations and policies.

Working within the Enterprise Data Strategy and Governance team, the Analyst will also assist and support various Entergy PMO organizations in facilitating the development and implementation of standardized processes, reporting on their performance and compliance with policies, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. The Analyst will also collaborate with the AI Enablement team in developing training content and project implementation toolkits that will guide project teams in developing responsible AI solutions.

 

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  1. Support the Data Governance Manager in facilitating AI data governance program activities including reviewing proposed solutions, developing governance guidelines and checklists, and preparation of senior management reports on data metrics.
  2. Collaborate with AI product and platform teams to develop, implement, and maintain data governance standards, policies, and procedures to ensure the quality, accessibility, reliability, and security of enterprise data in the analytics platform.
  3. Execute and continuously improve data quality & risk management processes.
  4. Monitor and report on compliance with governance policies and standards.
  5. Stay up-to-date and educate the company on the latest trends and developments in AI & data governance regulations, best practices, and issues.
  6. Implement data security and access controls for solutions that leverage the AI organization’s data and analytics platform.
  7. Support the democratization of data in the analytics platform by facilitating secure access and usage by various analytics and business teams.
  8. Promote data literacy and awareness by providing training on analytics platform contents and access procedures.
  9. Manage and oversee the development and implementation of data governance tools and technologies.
  10. Collaborate with the IT and AI PMO team in ensuring delivery standards are identified and followed.

 

Minimum Requirements

 

Minimum education required of the position

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.

 

Minimum experience required of the position

Analyst I: 0-2 years of professional experience.

Analyst II: 2-4 years of professional experience, at least 1 year of experience managing data in an enterprise data warehouse/data lake.

Analyst III: 4-6 years of professional experience, at least 2 years of experience managing data in an enterprise data warehouse/data lake.

Analyst, Sr: At least 6 years of professional experience, at least 3 years of experience managing enterprise data warehouse/data lake.

Analyst, Sr Lead: At least 8 years of professional experience, at least 4 years of experience managing enterprise data warehouse/data lake.

 

 

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position

  • Strong understanding of AI and machine learning principles.
  • Experience with cloud-based data and computing platforms.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with energy and utility industry preferred.
