Position Summary
The Work Management Student Intern supports the Work Management Center of Excellence by assisting with projects that improve the planning, scheduling, dispatching, execution, and reporting of electric utility work. This internship provides hands-on experience with operational excellence, process improvement, data analytics, and enterprise systems that help deliver safe, reliable, and affordable electric service.
The intern will work alongside experienced professionals supporting initiatives that improve workforce productivity, customer commitments, job readiness, and continuous improvement across field operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with analysis of work management data, operational metrics, and business processes.
- Support development of dashboards, reports, and presentations for leadership.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives focused on planning, scheduling, dispatching, and field execution.
- Help identify trends, root causes, and opportunities to improve operational performance.
- Document business processes, standard operating procedures, and workflow improvements.
- Assist with testing, validation, and implementation of new technology and system enhancements.
- Support meetings by preparing agendas, documenting action items, and tracking project progress.
- Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Design, Reliability, and Information Technology teams on cross-functional initiatives.
- Perform research and benchmarking to identify industry best practices.
- Complete special projects and other assignments as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:
- Industrial Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Business Administration
- Supply Chain Management
- Information Systems
- Data Analytics
- Operations Management
- Or a related field
- Sophomore standing or higher preferred.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Excel for data analysis and visualization.
- Familiarity with Power BI or other business intelligence tools.
- Knowledge of process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
- Experience with SQL, Python, Power Query, or similar analytical tools is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments while meeting deadlines.
