Entergy’s Project Delivery Engineering Department is responsible for planning, designing, constructing, maintaining and operating over 16,000 miles of transmission lines and over 2,700 substations across the four-state territory.
Intern Job Description:
Working in a team environment to assist engineers in day to day activities including but not limited to:
- Participate in project scoping activities for substation projects at team site visits.
- Coordinate with design and construction organizations to develop project scope and estimate sheets.
- Perform engineering analysis/calculations to support relaying designs
- Develop relaying design package based on project scoping and site visits
- Identify and procure all required relaying project materials
- Utilizing CAD software to create construction drawings for projects
- Preparing relay operational one-line drawings
- Validate estimating prices and equipment units, ensuring material is properly ordered and staged for upcoming projects
- Support project schedules and processes by using activity tracking applications such as Primavera.
- Managing projects that are in construction
- Completion of as-built documentation
- Participate in weekly planning coordination calls
- Work on special projects to assist in improving grid reliability
- Travel may be required for the position
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Education:
Candidates must be actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Discipline from a four year ABET accredited institution and at minimum classified as a sophomore or beyond.
Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 is required (on a 4.0 scale).
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
