JOB SUMMARY:

Supports environmental compliance at existing and proposed Renewable Project sites through active onsite support.

 

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

·       Provide expert guidance to project and site personnel regarding environmental issues 

·       Work in direct support of the projects and sites to ensure regulatory compliance

·       Maintain thorough knowledge of project and site-specific environmental permits and plans

·       Conduct project and site inspections to assess environmental compliance and performance with all applicable permit conditions and regulations, documenting findings as required, and taking necessary action to close any identified gaps

·       Prepare regulatory required environmental reports

·       Maintain required environmental records and documentation for the projects and sites

·       Deliver environmental training to project and site personnel as required by applicable regulations and company procedures and programs

·       Provide environmental compliance support to respond to spills and releases, and make notifications as required by applicable regulations

·       Manage waste handling and disposal, and manifesting activities

·       Coordinate environmental sampling and testing activities as required by applicable regulations and permits

·       Participate in work groups to support new and ongoing projects

·       Identify and execute continuous improvement opportunities

·       Manage records and documentation pertaining to compliance programs in accordance with the records retention policy

 

 

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

Minimum Education:

·       Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience

 

Minimum Experience:

·       Analyst – Environmental I-II: 0- 2 years of experience handling environmental compliance activities.

·       Analyst – Environmental III: 3 - 5 years of experience handling environmental compliance activities.

·       Analyst – Environmental Sr.: 5- 6 years of experience handling environmental compliance activities

·       Applicant must be physically able to conduct field environmental investigations

·       Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

·       Ability to prioritize and manage multiple work tasks simultaneously

·       Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team setting

·       Strong attention to details

·       Strong analytical skills

·       Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills

·       Self-starter and requires little or no supervision

·       Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products

·       Excellent organizational skills, ability to organize and prioritize work

·       Ability to work effectively on multiple assignments

·       Flexible and able to adjust to changing priorities

·       Willing and able to perform other unrelated duties as required and learn new processes and technologies

 

Desired:

 

·       Experience managing environmental programs in an industrial or power generation setting

·       Experience in preparing environmental reports for an industrial or power generation facility

·       Experience in managing oil storage and use including oil spills in accordance with federal and state requirements

·       Experience in managing hazardous materials and hazardous waste shipments in accordance with DOT and RCRA requirements

·       Knowledge of power generation fundamentals

 

Work Conditions:

·       Office environment with minimal physical requirements

·       Available to work periodic overtime
