This position is a hybrid role, requiring reporting to the ofifce up to 3 days a week, will be filled as an IT Business Analyst - IT Business Analyst, SR depending on related experience. The successful candidate will be required to reside in Entergy’s Corporate Service Territory (Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, or Mississippi.

 

JOB SUMMARY

The IT Business Analyst is responsible for understanding the business, aligning IT strategy with overall business strategy and Entergy strategic imperatives, assisting in project prioritization, and ensuring that projects align with the IT standards. This position will serve as liaison between Meter to Cash (M2C) business unit and M2C support teams, working with the business to understand future goals and objectives in order to develop strategic plans, transform them into investment proposals and facilitate budgetary schedule and cost estimation processes in support of Entergy's Customer System application portfolio. This role will support execution of approved projects in support of Entergy’s project Service Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC) and associated project deliverables such as Requirements Document, Requirements Traceability Matrix, Test Management Plan.  Additionally, this role will support key day to day operations in understanding, documenting and identifying continuous improvement opportunities in the Meter to Cash value stream (including metering, billing, rates) and day to day operational Support to ensure customer incident/service requests are handled in a timely manner and there are no impacts to daily operations. 

 

This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our system controls, particularly for systems associated with SAP Industry Solution for Utility (IS-U) and SAP GRC (Governance, Risk, and Controls).

Furthermore, this role will be key in achieving 100% compliance of our SOX and Operational controls, as well as identifying areas of non-compliance or discrepancies and recommend corrective actions and work with both our Internal Audit and Regulatory Compliance teams on a regular basis. They use reports to evaluate the strength and thoroughness of compliance preparations, security policies, user access controls and risk management procedures over the course of a compliance audit.

 

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The position includes documenting and reviewing system controls and procedures, with a strong emphasis on precision and promptness to prevent deficiencies.   
  • Additionally, this role serves as a backup for SAP Security, helping to enhance our security processes and procedures. This includes assisting in updating our System User Documentation (SUD) and maintaining detailed, up-to-date control review process documentation. They will save and evaluate data using pre-defined reports in SAP GRC.  
  • Engage business to review vision, goals, strategies, risk mitigation, and objectives to develop and maintain IT roadmaps for capital planning.
  • Serve as an expert in business needs and maintaining context for improving business and IT alignment.
  • Maintain awareness of business objectives, including critical business problems and business goals.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and innovations in technology.
  • Work with the Service Delivery Managers and Business Unit leaders to maintain an understanding of business/client priorities and functional processes.
  • Provide Operational Support (through Incident Management, Service Request Oversight, Problem Management, Change Request/Enhancements, Compliance Support, and Application Environment Management) to achieve service excellence.
  • Create and maintain all work products related to the project management process (e.g., business case, use case, functional specification, solution design specifications, requirements traceability matrix, and financial models) to ensure they the work products are comprehensive for transition to the development teams for detailed design and the creation of test scripts.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education Required for the position:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or experience equivalent

 

Experience Required for the position:

  • Required: 1+ years general Process Controls and Audit experience
  • Required: 1+ years general User Security, Roles, and Permissions experience

 

IT Business Analyst:

  • Required: 1+ years general IT project experience
  • Preferred: 3+ years general IT directly relevant to the position
  • Preferred: 1 - 3 years in the Energy Industry and IT Service Delivery

 

IT Business Analyst Sr Level:

  • Required: 5+ years general IT project experience
  • Preferred: 6+ years general IT experience directly relevant to the position
  • Preferred: 3 + years in the Energy Industry and IT Service Delivery

 

Minimum knowledge and/or skills required:  

  • Software Development Life Cycle, Change Management, Project Management, Conflict Management, Vendor Management, Test Management including knowledge of HP ALM, Business Analysis, Experience with Microsoft Office products (specifically MS Excel with pivot tables and charts), Communication skills (written/verbal), Business case development, Stakeholder engagement, Requirements writing, Organizational skills, Operational/Problem Management, and Control and Audit Management
  • Experience with Meter to Cash business processes is a preferred, but not required.
