This posting is to fill four, full-time, multi-discipline positions as Engineer I, II, III, Sr. or Sr. Lead based on qualifications.

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

These four positions function on a multi-discipline project engineering team developing engineering solutions to facilitate capital improvements to commercial nuclear power plants.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary responsibilities for these positions include:

  • Complete assigned qualifications to support generation of work products.
  • Meet with stakeholders to identify the problem in need of solution.
  • Develop and present potential solutions to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Develop efficient modification packages to facilitate implementation of selected solutions in accordance with defined standards and procedures.  Typical activities include:
    • Develop scoping reports.
    • Identify risk and develop mitigation plans.
    • Research to identify impacted controlled documents (such as calculations, reports, drawings, vendor manual, procedures, licensing documents) and create or revise documents as necessary to implement the change.
    • Perform in-discipline evaluations and analyses.
    • Interface with vendors, stakeholders, and leadership.
    • Interface with enterprise software suites (such as Maximo, CMISDP, eB Reflib).
    • Organize and present products to stakeholders and leadership.
    • Develop modification test plans.
    • Support modification installation, which typically involves extended work hours during outages.
    • Develop and manage engineering budgets and schedules.
    • Develop and administer engineering contracts.
  • Identify and execute the appropriate process for assigned activities.
  • Provide technical support to facilitate the safe, reliable operation of nuclear power.
  • Provide engineering field support in industrial and radiologically controlled environments, which may require wearing personal protective equipment, navigating congested or restricted workspaces, climbing stairs and ladders, accessing elevated platforms, and working in areas that are difficult to reach. Team members must be able to perform walkdowns and inspections in hot, cold, noisy, or low‑visibility conditions while maintaining strict adherence to safety, radiological, and procedural requirements.
  • Serves on outage engineering support teams, an emergent issue response team, and the emergency response organization.
  • Travel up to ~25%

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, or comparable engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited program providing the foundational education to facilitate completion of assigned activities.  Minimum experience required of the position

  • Engineer I: 0 – 2 years’ experience in nuclear power design or equivalent experience
  • Engineer II: 2 – 3 years’ experience in nuclear power design or equivalent experience (1+ year with master’s degree)
  • Engineer III: 4 – 5 years’ experience in nuclear power design or equivalent experience (3+ years with PE/master’s degree)
  • Sr. Engineer: 8+ years, based on overall experience and prior role evaluations.(5+ years with PE/master’s degree)
  • Sr. Lead Engineer: Discretionary level awarded based on demonstrated leadership, proficiency, and expertise.

Desired: Project engineering experience developing modification packages; analytical capability within discipline.  Primary focus for problem solving.  AI familiarity both building and using AI tools.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position

  • Proficient problem solving.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in PC applications, engineering tools, and analytical systems appropriate to the engineering level.
