Job Title: Business Development Account Executive

Job Summary/Purpose

To support the growth of our business through lead generation efforts to attract new qualified projects to grow revenues within the Entergy service area. In this external-facing role, you will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and recruiting businesses to establish operations in Louisiana. Serve as a key ambassador of Entergy, working closely with local and regional partners to promote economic development, job creation, and long-term load growth to targeted industries, site consultants, and existing customers. 

 

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Identify and proactively recruit target companies across key sectors (petrochem, advanced manufacturing, logistics, data centers, agribusiness, etc.) to locate in our service area.
  • Build relationships with site selectors, real estate brokers, economic development organizations (EDOs), chambers of commerce, and state/local government entities.
  • Develop and present marketing materials and proposals highlighting the value of locating in our territory, including cost of power, infrastructure capacity, incentive programs, and workforce assets.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, rate administration, customer service) to respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) and site selection inquiries.
  • Represent the utility at industry trade shows, site selector forums, and regional economic development events.
  • Maintain a database of active prospects and project activity, tracking key performance metrics and outcomes.
  • Develop an understanding of various key programs, incentives, individuals, sites, buildings, and territory assets to promote Louisiana’s strengths/advantages and attract new business.
  • Meet with companies and consultants to present information on key assets in the Entergy Louisiana service area to develop interest in locating. Work with outside vendors and 3rd party consultants to identify leads in targeted industries.
  • Support storm recovery effort by serving in a Storm Duty Role.
  • Work on other assigned duties as necessary within the scope and consideration of minimum job requirements.

 

Minimum Requirements

Minimum education required of the position

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economic Development, Business, Marketing, Public Administration, or a related field. Preferred: degree in Engineering.

 

Minimum experience required of the position

  • Minimum of five (5) experience in economic development, business recruitment, or site selection preferred.

 

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position

  • Knowledge of the economic development process including the role of energy in site selection.
  • Capability to identify key drivers (such as macroeconomic indicators, industrial/consumer activities, domestic/global prices, etc.) and their effects on production, demand and trade flows to identity target sectors for recruitment.
  • Knowledge of electric utility industry with transmission and distribution engineering experience preferred.
