Hiring Process

The below outline provides an overview of the steps in Entergy’s hiring process:

Search for a Position

From the Careers page select Apply Now and use your preferred search method to browse the available opportunities.

If you don’t see the job you were looking for now, be sure to sign up for email job alert notifications based on your job interests here.


Once you find the job you are interested in, select Apply Now and complete the online application.  When you have completed the application you will receive an automated email referencing your completed application. Please be sure to check your email Inbox. If the email message went into your Junk folder, please change your settings to allow emails sent from Entergy to go into your Inbox.  This will help you to avoid missing any future communications.

Certain jobs at Entergy require the applicant to complete and pass a knowledge and skills test before being invited to interview.  Test requirements are outlined on the relevant job postings for positions with a test requirement.  Visit the Pre-employment testing page for additional details.

Through the interview process Entergy learns more about the candidate and the candidate has the opportunity to meet employees and learn more about the company, the job and career opportunities with Entergy.  A candidate may experience a variety of interviews including phone, one-on-one or panel interviews where several people may be in the room to ask the candidate questions.

Pre-employment Screening

When a candidate accepts a job offer with Entergy there will be a series of pre-employment screenings completed.  This may include, but is not limited to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, and verification of work and education history.  Some positions will also require a candidate to complete a fitness for duty screening.  Job specific screenings will be initiated once a formal offer has been accepted.

Once all the screenings have been satisfactorily completed, a start date will be confirmed and the employee will be able to report to work as a first step to their new career.  

Updating Your Application

To update information on an active application or resume, click here. Once you have logged in, select Careers from the main menu in the top left hand corner of the page.  You can then review your current application status, update your information or withdraw from consideration.
