Job Summary/Purpose:

  • Grow revenue, increase shareholder value, and improve local Entergy Louisiana economies by identifying new large commercial/industrial prospects, matching those prospects with suitable geographic sites and selling the business case needed to attract prospect investment within Entergy Louisiana’s service territory.
  • Sell the Entergy Business Development brand and state footprint to targeted industries, site consultants, and potential new customers.  Establish and maintain strong external relationships with business leaders to identify their needs, execute global recruiting/lead generation efforts, attract new qualified projects and grow revenues within Entergy Louisiana’s service area.

 

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop leads, aggressively recruit prospects & deliver qualified new business projects to Entergy Louisiana. Identify high value industrial leads within targeted sectors by attending industry conferences, performing industry research, soliciting industry decision makers, collaborating with state, regional and local allies in Louisiana.
  • Generate/identify leads through regular contact with site location consultants, engineering firms, past prospects and other industry influencers etc.
  • Meet with companies and consultants to present information on key assets in the Entergy Louisiana service area to develop interest in locating. Work with outside vendors and 3rd party consultants to identify leads in targeted industries.
  • Build and maintain relationships with individuals and associations that can enhance Entergy Louisiana’s ability to develop prospects and new business opportunities, both national and international organizations as well. Enhance Entergy Louisiana’s ability to develop prospects and new business opportunities by building and maintaining long term relationships with target sector individuals and associations.
  • Develop an understanding of various key programs, incentives, individuals, sites, buildings, and territory assets to promote Louisiana’s strengths/advantages and attract new business.
  • Identify the specific business needs for each prospect and provide the support needed to create a business case that attracts prospect investment within Entergy Louisiana’s service territory.
  • Influence location decisions and maximize growth opportunity by coordinating with Entergy Louisiana Economic Development Project Managers in providing timely and accurate responses to prospect requests, providing consistent follow up and leveraging Entergy executives as necessary. Coordinate with the internal team along with external organizations to analyze and prepare RFI reports/responses and submit to appropriate contacts as needed.
  • Develop and implement programs that brand Entergy as a utility leader in economic development. Support and Promote the departments’ efforts to determine interest and focus, understand perspective and needs, and provide support and assistance with responsibilities.
  • Supports the other team members and groups within the Business Development department.
  • Provide and support other departmental Reports, Presentations, Analysis and special projects.
  • Maintain Business Development CRM project tracking and generate necessary reports.
  • Produce other required reporting, tracking and more as needed.
  • Identify, drive and track progress of annual goals and initiatives identified by team.
  • Participate on various cross functional teams as needed.
  • Support the annual Score Card/Incentive Goals
  • Produce various Presentations/Slides and Reports.
  • Coordination/Communications with other business groups.
  • Storm Duty Team and Assignment.

 

Minimum education required of the position:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience.

 

Minimum experience required of the position:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in business development, attraction and recruitment of new industry and/or economic development. Knowledge of electric utility industry is beneficial, but not required.

 

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position:

  • Strong networking skills.
  • Analytical and/or commercial knowledge of commodity product behaviors, and strong capability to identify key drivers (such as macroeconomic indicators, industrial/consumer activities, domestic/global prices, etc.) so that their effects on production, demand and trade flows can be evaluated to identify growth potential.
  • Ability to gain broad knowledge of multiple industry sectors, including, but not limited to: 
    • Agribusiness, Chemical and Petroleum Manufacturing, Plastic, Rubber and Paper Products, Advanced Materials Manufacturing, Primary Metals, Metal Fabrication, Automotive and Machine Manufacturing, Distribution and Warehousing, Food Processing, Energy Services, Biotech Research and Manufacturing, Digital/Data Centers.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment. 
  • Must possess the ability to prioritize opportunities based on probability of success and profitability.
  • Travel nationally, internationally for recruitment efforts up to 50% of the time.
  • Must be an excellent verbal and written communicator, able to effectively develop and present sales proposals and presentations to prospective customers.   
  • Project management, strategic planning and implementation skills.
  • Excellent Reporting, Analytical and Communications skills.
  • Technical knowledge, i.e., computer hardware/software, database, CRM systems.
  • Proficient in computer operations and applications such as:  Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Google Earth, Internet, Adobe products, Webinar’s.
  • Excellent writing skills (plans, reports, presentations, contracts)
  • Ability to interface with all levels of management and various external organizations and customers.
  • Strong ability to communicate and interact with a wide-range of people, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to direct and negotiate with others.
