Note: This is a hybrid position, requiring in office work 3 days per week. This position can be located in Little Rock, AR, Baton Rouge, LA, Jackson, MS, or New Orleans, LA. The selected candidate will be placed as an incident response specialist through senior based on education and experience, as well as demonstrated success at the incident response level. Relocation assistance is NOT available for this posting.
JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
This role provides governance and execution support of Entergy's system-wide logistics programs supporting the staging and lodging operations. The role will work with Entergy’s Staging and Lodging Branch Directors, executive leaders and functional business partners to effectively maintain and further develop an overall companywide staging and/or lodging preparedness program, coordinating requirements from Operating Company State Resource and Operating Chiefs, inclusive of developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive companywide preparedness program to support emergency readiness and large-scale incident response.
The Logistics Support Specialist supports the Lodging and Staging Branch Directors by reviewing and providing recommendations to system program policies, procedures and processes; maintaining readiness metrics, system policies, system checklists, program documentation such as managing staging site land use agreements; contract development and management of turnkey logistics vendors and turn-key hotel providers. The Logistics Support Specialists will participate in monthly planning and coordination calls with State Staging and Lodging Division Managers; ensure all processes are reviewed and updated annually; provide input and deliver training to company assigned lodging and staging employees across all operating companies. During system incidents, the role transitions to an operational capacity and will support the System Staging and Lodging Branch Directors within the System Incident Command System framework, requiring potential travel with minimal notice and extended deployment periods providing a logistics response to service up to 10,000 to 15,000 resources. Responsibilities may include the activation of general staff positions such as staging or lodging managers and leaders; issuing vendor and contractor notices to proceed/standby/conclude for logistics operations, fuel, bussing, deployment of personal protective equipment, engaging with hotel provider for availability, assignment of rooms, input of logistical information into Storm Manager, monitoring deployment costs and documentation of execution decisions, response demobilization and after event invoice review and reconciliation. The role also supports the Incident Response Department through documentation management, data analysis, presentations, and cross-functional collaboration to enhance staging and lodging incident response capabilities and ensure organizational readiness for system-wide response.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare for assigned incident response role in the System Incident Command System framework and respond to incidents to perform the role during incidents, potentially with travel, with minimal notice, and for extended periods.
- Develop subject matter expertise in areas of responsibility.
- Support the coordination and classroom training of applicable internal and external parties in incident response programs, processes, etc. to prepare organizations and individuals to safely, accurately, timely and completely perform roles required for effective, efficient, and coordinated incident response.
- Develop and/or maintain applicable documentation of programs, processes, checklists, training materials and records, applicable incident response records etc., assigned project status, etc. to effectively manage and report responsible work.
Provide support to the Incident Response organization. Collaborates with and supports various business units in their incident response activities
- Support the Incident Response organization in development and enhancement of incident response programs, incident response plans, tools/applications, data maintenance, status reporting, development of presentations, data analysis, response to surveys and requests for information such as incident/storm records, training and other activities as required to prepare for response to incidents affecting Entergy.
Lead various projects, participate in work groups as required or directed by management.
Perform cross-model data integration and analysis to forecast and present potential storm and weather-related costs, combining operational, financial, and historical datasets.
- Support after-action reviews, simulations, and training exercises through advanced analytics, documentation, and post-event performance reporting.
- Maintain official department records while modernizing reporting processes to improve situational awareness, operational preparedness, and leadership visibility
- Bridge operational incident response needs with data architecture, reporting strategy, and continuous process improvement.
- Support the Lodging or Staging Branch Directors by reviewing and updating processes and procedures annually or as needed.
- Develop and execute change management strategies to support program modifications.
- Ensure integration of Entergy’s Incident Management System to enable effective planning, response, and recovery from adverse incidents.
- Monitor program status and business function adherence to requirements; collaborate with executive leadership to close gaps and advance program objectives.
- Establish oversight mechanisms and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track program status and drive continuous improvement.
- Maintain linkages with other programs that impact logistics operations.
- Conduct regular assessments of functional logistics plans, identify areas for improvement, and share best practices across functions.
- Leverage data and insights from Entergy’s lessons learned program to identify potential enterprise-wide risks requiring mitigation.
- Lead projects and participate in work groups as directed by management, collaborating with system-wide, cross-functional teams.
- Prepare for and perform key roles in response to system incidents, supporting Entergy organizations during incident response.
- Coordinate and assemble contract data (supplier names, vendor numbers, contract details, rates, terms, Avetta status, etc.) for effective use during storm incidents.

- Serve as back up to the System Staging and Lodging Branch Directors during storm events, prepared to activate at any moment.
- Conduct continuous testing in UAT environments for enhancements/changes within Storm Manager and CATNAP.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of APIs and Power BI to support program operations and reporting.
- Provide classroom support in training classes in every state and coordinate additional training sessions throughout the calendar year.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education:
Typically requires a college or university degree in related field or the equivalent work experience.
Minimum experience (Preferred):
- Support Specialist; 1+ year experience
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities:
Ability to work safely and in compliance with requirements under all conditions.
Ability to effectively organize, multi-task and manage projects. Self-directed with moderate to significant discretion for planning and execution.
Ability to learn and translate knowledge of practices into well documented plans and procedures. Ability to effectively interact with teams and different levels of the organization. Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional teams and large-scale programs. Strong knowledge of enterprise risk management principles and incident management systems.
- Proficiency with APIs, Power BI, and related data visualization/reporting tools.
- Experience with systems such as Storm Manager, CATNAP, and Concur reconciliation processes.
- Ability to analyze complex data sets, identify trends, and develop actionable insights.
- Willingness to travel and perform field work as needed, particularly during incident responses.
- Ability to serve in storm-related roles (e.g., System Lodging or Staging Branch Director) and activate on short notice.
- Commitment to ongoing training and professional development across multiple states.
- Experience in use of computer applications and software such as Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint).
