JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
Mgr., Region is responsible for overseeing gas construction and maintenance activities within the Entergy Louisiana gas service territory and ensuring the safe and reliable delivery of natural gas to Entergy Louisiana gas customers. 


JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish the strategic direction of the gas construction and maintenance function and assist in the development of Gas Distribution Business unit goals and business plan.
  • Manage construction of gas mains and services, maintenance of underground gas pipe system, gas locate function, and leak survey and cathodic protection activities in accordance with state and federal guidelines.  Support and provide leadership to construction and maintenance supervisors and operations coordinators around planning and scheduling work of company and contractor resources, installation and repair practices and procedures, and new technology implementation. 
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable DOT Pipeline Hazardous Material Safety Administration/Office of Pipeline Safety regulations by effectively managing all aspects of gas related work and maintenance of all required documentation.  Ensure the gas locate function operates in accordance with all state dig law requirements.  Identify opportunities to improve our ability to demonstrate compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Demonstrate strong safety leadership and commitment to safety.
  • Effectively manage the business by closely monitoring capital and O&M spend levels to ensure budgets are achieved.
  • Achieve operational and customer service excellence by setting and communicating aggressive performance expectations, implementing process improvements, and measuring/monitoring performance levels.  Identify opportunities to standardize and proceduralize work practices and incorporate new technologies.
  • Embrace Entergy’s leadership practices by setting clear expectations, holding people accountable, leading by example, developing employees, rewarding and recognizing successes and motivating team members to achieve excellence.
  • Maintain strong and effective internal relationships with key internal customers, including Louisiana customer service and regulatory affairs personnel.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with peer utilities through engagement in industry forums to gain insight into best practices and new technologies.  Utilize knowledge gained to improve efficiency and reliability of the gas distribution system.
  • Key measures of success include: improved safety culture as measured by close call/good catch submissions and lower accident and incident rates, management of capital and O&M spending within budget targets, reduction in customer initiated gas leaks, increased revenue growth and improved customer service through effective, timely construction of facilities, zero citations received from pipeline division inspectors or other regulatory agencies, achievement of customer satisfaction goals as measured by post-transaction survey, commits met and customer complaints.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required of the position
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferred) or equivalent work experience

Minimum experience required of the position

  • 5+ years experience
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience desired

  • Strong organization, decision making, customer service, management and leadership skills.
  • High personal accountability


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge/experience of Gas Distribution Business and natural gas pipeline operations
  • Knowledge of Federal and State Regulations – Office of Pipeline Safety
  • Knowledge of IBEW contract and experience managing union personnel
