JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:

Performs a wide variety of activities associated with asset management activities for all service areas in Entergy.  This includes routine, non-routine, and emergency assistance associated with substations and transmission lines. Activities may include work order development, contract management, budget oversight, procedure development, compliance adherence,  planning, strategic project support, safety, and root cause failure analysis. 

 

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the system spares program and annual system failure budget
  • Maintain the CIP-14 physical security plan procedure, take a lead in the response of inquiries, and participate in associated audits
  • Uses engineering and/or technical principles, best practices, and knowledge of internal and external business issues to solve problems, develop cost-effective technically sound solutions, and improve products or services.
  • Support the development and maintenance of system level contracts for various substation equipment manufacturers and service providers
  • Supports activities to comply with applicable industry standards (i.e., NERC, SERC) and other utility regulations, as required.
  • Assist with storm/emergency restoration efforts as necessary

 

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum Education:

  • Technical Degree (2-year Associate or 4-year Bachelor’s) and/or years of operational experience in electric utilities commensurate with progression level (Detailed Below). 
  • Preferred: Education and/or experience requirements in Transmission Lines.

 

Minimum Experience:

  • with 4-year bachelor’s degree: 8 years of experience
  • with 2-year associate degree: 12 years of experience
  • with supervisory experience: 16 years of experience
  • without a degree: 20 years of experience

 

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of procedures, programs, and standards in responsible area.
  • Consistently demonstrates good judgement.
  • Mentors other specialists and technical professionals.
  • Good interpersonal skills along with strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Good math skills.
  • Good knowledge of Personal Computer operations and related software.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Required to work safely and follow all Entergy safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to recognize hazards in the workplace and have the ability to mitigate the hazards.
  • Demonstrated acceptance of a diverse and inclusive work environment and customer base.
  • Ability to recognize opportunities for process improvement and have the ability to enact change.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

 

Preferred:

  • Knowledgeable in MS Office toolkit.
  • Self-motivated with ability and desire to make good decisions.
  • Able to work cross-functional with other personnel, departments and organizations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
