Job Summary/Purpose:

*This position may be filled as a Procurement Spec. I, II, III or Sr. depending on experience and qualifications.

Responsible for the overall purchasing, materials management and contract negotiations/administration of products and services required for efficient, cost effective system operation.

 

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Identify and initiate changes in the terms and conditions of contracts and/or purchase orders  to reflect current Company policies.

Prepare responses to audit, condition reports and other data requests

Advise/assist customers regarding contract or materials concerns or administrative issues.

Perform transfer of material. Determine appropriate pricing methods for bids, contracts and purchase orders.

Prepare drafts of routine contracts and obtain legal and management approval as required

Analyze material trends and establish inventory policies to meet service level expectations. Assist in the development of technical specifications and/or definitions of the scope of the work.

 

Minimum education required of the position:

Prefer either Supply Chain related B.A./B.S. degree (such as business, accounting, finance, engineering/technical), CPA,  professional supply chain/procurement  certification, OR equivalent related experience.

 

Minimum experience required of the position:

Procurement Spec I - 0-1 year of procurement or related experience.

Procurement Spec II - 1-3 years of procurement or related experience

Procurement Spec III - 2-5 years of procurement or related experience.

Procurement Spec Sr. - 5+ years of procurement or related experience

 

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position:

Uses focused listening to understand others’ perspectives. Clearly understands the issues, required outcomes, optional paths, and the likely positions of the other side.  Has participated in executing numerous contracts or purchase orders. Ability to apply accounting and invoice processing control requirements  Demonstrated ability in using cost and value analysis techniques. Aware of both the company’s and his/her business unit’s challenges and opportunities with regard to the competition. Demonstrates initiative and takes lead to effectively manage costs of the business. Comfortable and effective in dealing with conceptual issues.  Asks probing questions to determine solutions and doesn’t just accept the first/easiest solution without analysis. Develops challenging stretch goals at the start of the year and aggressively works to meet those goals.

 

Any certificates, license, etc. required of the position:

Professional supply chain/procurement certification preferred
