JOB SUMMARY:
Utility Foreman - Grid is primarily responsible for supervising and performing installations, maintenance and testing of substation equipment. The substation foreman will supervise emergency activities associated with the restoration of substation equipment. The substation foreman promotes safe work behaviors and actions from all assigned crews. The substation foreman provides a professional point of contact for contractors and internal/external customers. The substation foreman must be available for callouts and extended hours.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise and perform all aspects of installation and maintenance of substation equipment
- Supervise and organize emergency activities associated with the restoration of substation equipment
- Provide field training to maintenance crews on a wide array of substation apparatus
- Assist crews in performing equipment testing; Such tests include but not limited to Doble power factor, Doble breaker speed analyzer, Alber battery test set and Kelman Profiler
- Provide a professional point of contact for contractors, internal/external customers, and design groups
- Ensures compliance with Configuration Management and substation equipment maintenance procedures and processes
- Facilitate and support activities associated with the realization of departmental and company goals
- Assure a safe work environment exists and actively and progressively require safe work behaviors and actions from all assigned crews
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Experience and Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent or related work experience
- At least 5 years of experience in the electric utility industry
- Preferred:
- At least 5 - 10 years of experience in electrical substation maintenance or construction
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Able to work with little direction with a high level of organization to accomplish multiple projects simultaneously
- Must be available for 24-hour callout and extended hours
- Must be certified and able to perform substation switching
Minimum Certifications, Licenses, etc.:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TWIC Card and a CDL driver's license
