Job Title: Entry Level Accountant

Note: This is a hybrid position based out our offices in Hammond, LA, and requires in office work 3 days a week.  This posting is limited to an entry level role. Candidates from outside the area, if selected, will be expected to relocate for this oppertunity.  Relocation assistance is not avaiable for this posting. 

 

Job Summary/Purpose:

The shared services organization has a need for a strong Accountant to join the Accounts Payable team.   

 

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Use of PeopleSoft technology to perform daily Accounts Payable tasks. Including maintaining vendor master files
  • Support and Conduct control testing in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley
  • Develop improved financial processes, reports, and information. 
  • Understanding of IRS regulations in order to support the creation of 1099s and 1042s.
  • Identify opportunities to re-engineer systems and processes to improve Accounts Payable and the end user experience
  • Special projects to enhance and or improve technology

 

Minimum education requirements for this position:

BS Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

 

Minimum experience requirements for this position:

  • Accountant I  0-2 years of experience in accounting

 

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position:

  • Knowledge of accounting controls, systems and processes
  • Working knowledge of MS Office application
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate
  • Efficiently use knowledge of tools and business processes to identify problems and resolve issues.

 

Desired Qualifications for this position:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or Finance
  • Experience in Accounts Payable
