JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

Performs a variety of electrical equipment testing and repair activities per Entergy standards requirements at the Repair Shop location.  Performs a variety of Live Line Tool testing per OSHA and Entergy safety requirements throughout the Entergy service network.  Performs a variety of routine and standard material handling activities including shipping and receiving distribution oil filled equipment. Also performs prepping equipment for painting and painting electrical equipment as needed.

 

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Troubleshoot, test and repair oil filled electrical equipment.
  • Testing of hot stick and grounds at various Entergy Power Delivery and Generation locations.
  • Load oil filled equipment on trailers for shipment for disposal.
  • Operate powered industrial trucks and jib cranes to handle equipment.
  • Paint and finish oil-filled electrical equipment.
  • Properly label and package equipment according to Entergy specifications for shipment to end user.
  • Perform general housekeeping activities.
  • Follow safety rules and regulations and assists shop crew to meet daily goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education required of the position

High school degree or equivalent.

 

Minimum experience required of the position

1-3 years’ experience in shop operations and/or industrial or electrical tool testing preferred.

 

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position

Familiar with nomenclature of electrical materials, able to perform basic math calculations, some knowledge of environmental regulations and requirements. Must be able to safely operate powered industrial trucks and other tools common in a shop environment.

 

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.

 

Travel requirements of the position

Up to 40% travel throughout Entergy network supporting tool testing process in odd (1, 3, 5, 7, 9) years.

Up to 50% travel throughout Entergy network supporting tool testing process in even (2, 4, 6, 8, 0) years.
