(This position is based our nuclear headquarters, and requires relocation to Jackson, MS.)

 

Job Summary/Purpose

ASME OM Code Dynamic Restraint (Snubber) Program Engineer will be responsible for implementing the Entergy fleet Snubber Program.   The Engineer will have overall responsibility of the fleet Snubber Program and interface with the operating Entergy nuclear plants to develop and implement snubber program plans for inspections and testing to achieve top quartile snubber performance and reliability at the most efficient and cost-effective means.

 

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility and ownership of the fleet Snubber Program
  • Act as the central fleet Snubber Program point of contact for external oversight organizations
  • Engage with, and sit on, industry working groups and ASME OM Code committees
  • Ensure the fleet Snubber Programs are being implemented based on ASME OM Code requirements and industry best practices
  • Monitor and drive industry Snubber OE implementation/corrective actions across the fleet
  • Develop Snubber Program inspection and testing plans for the fleet based on historical performance, trending, long range plan and ASME OM Code requirements.
  • Develop program long range plans based on cross-functional interaction and feedback from the site Engineering, Operations, Outage Management and Maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain program basis and implementation procedures for the fleet
  • Develop fleet wide program performance indicators to include the comprehensive action plans for underperforming program metrics and present to fleet and site leadership teams

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 

Minimum education required for the position

B.S. degree in Engineering

 

Minimum experience required for the position

  • Engineer, II: 2 years (1 year with master’s degree)
  • Engineer, III: 4 years (3 years with PE/master’s degree)
  • Senior Engineer: 6 years (5 years with PE)
  • Senior Lead Engineer: 10 years (8 years with PE/Master's Degree)

 

Desire:  ASME OM Code experience

 

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

Knowledgeable in ASME OM code program requirements for nuclear power plants. Technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operation. Outstanding communication, conflict management, and change management skills. Must have strong written and oral communication skills. Must be skilled in the use of Microsoft desktop software. Knowledgeable of probabilistic risk analysis methods. Skilled at system analysis.

 

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position

Fundamentals of Engineering (EIT) or Professional Engineer’s license is preferred.
