JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE RESPONSIBLE FOR ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING:

  • The Engineering activities which provide for safe and reliable fabrication, operation, and storage of nuclear fuel for the Entergy Nuclear Fleet,
  • The Engineering and Business support activities related to the Special Nuclear Material (SNM) Program, Fuel Reliability (FR)/Fuel Performance (FP) Program, or the Dry Fuel Storage (DFS) Program for the Entergy Nuclear Fleer, OR
  • The Engineering activities associated with supporting Reactor Engineering on-site.


JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for supporting reload project management with activities associated with the oversight of nuclear fuel fabrication and fuel reliability.
  • Responsible for maintaining the Special Nuclear Material program and appropriate reporting activities to the regulator. Ensures that engineering work is performed, and programs are implemented consistent with defined standards.
  • Responsible for maintaining the Fuel Reliability program and appropriate activities associated with fuel performance and fuel failure characterization, such as, employing barriers to ensure that fuel is operated in safe and reliable manner.
  • Responsible for assisting with Spent Fuel Pool storage rack criticality analysis and rack monitoring program, as necessary.
  • Provide support for the Dry Fuel Storage Program by maintaining appropriate models, necessary.
  • Ensures that fleet lessons are learned, and good practices are implemented throughout the group’s respective programs.
  • Helps ensure that each site follows excellent practices in reactivity management, core monitoring/burnup, core component activities, fuel reliability, special nuclear material accounting, operations support, spent fuel pool inventory management, fuel receipt and inspection, refueling, fuel movement, and dry cask fuel selection.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

Minimum education required of the position:

  • B.S. degree in Nuclear Engineering, or a closely related discipline or equivalent experience. (Equivalent experience is defined as demonstrated success at the Engineer level.
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering or Business Administration is preferred.


Minimum experience required of the position:

  • Engineer I: 0+ years of experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent
  • Engineer II: 2+ years of experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent,
  • Engineer III: 4+ years of experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent,
  • Engineer Sr: 6+ years of experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent,

 

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position:

  • Ability to work as a team member and lead a team, if necessary.
  • Technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operation.
  • Outstanding communication, conflict management, and change management skills.
  • Proficiency with current computer business applications.

 

Desired:

  • Fuel Reliability/Fuel Performance experience with BWR or PWRs

 

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position:

  • Professional Engineering license preferred or, 
  • Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license preferred.
