Job Purpose/Summary

This position is responsible for the governance, oversight, execution, and support of planned projects and outages within the power generation fleet. This individual will also provide leadership and direction to a team of direct reports that include regionally located outage superintendents and technical personnel.
 


Primary Duties & Areas of Responsibility:

  • Active member of the Engineering and Technical Services Lead Team shaping policy for all employees in the organization.
  • Develop and update staffing plans for site project portfolios multiple times a year
  • Overseee, coach, mentor, and monitor performance of teams in the process of planning and executing projects assigned to their region
  • Implementing Programmatic Guidance aligned with Technical Program Management
  • Oversee and provide leadership for technical programs such as Predictive Maintenance, FAC, High Energy
  • Piping for the sites in their region as the team implements these in the field.
  • Proactively develop a the regional engineering and technical service employees in their group with the dual goal of developing a pipeline of talent for future staff-level technical positions and broadly providing capable employees to serve the needs of the region and fleet as a whole.
  • Provide a framework to cultivate outstanding customer service to every Power Generation site and be the provider of choice for technical solutions for the fleet.
  • Proactively monitor and enhance the outage planning process for the Entergy Power Generation fleet
  • Provide leadership and direction to plant management teams to ensure the outage planning process is utilized to ensure that performance objectives are met or exceeded
  • Works closely with plants to ensure project cost, scope, schedule, risk, and contracting strategies are developed in planning and delivered in execution
  • Act as a system owner for various fleet level technical programs such as winter readiness, 5-year budget development, LMWHr reduction, and equipment condition planning.
  • Works with jurisdictional VP’s and respective plant managers to ensure effective outage coordination, planning, and execution
  • Responsible for the safety, financial performance, reliability, and compliance of the assigned outages and projects while working closely with the respective plant managers and associated service staff
  • Drive safety performance and culture during all work that instills an employee safety mindset that results in a safety culture and an injury free work environment
  • Drive and support implementation/adoption of new fleet wide programs, processes, procedures, guidelines and standards for achieving operational and maintenance excellence and cultural change across Power Generation 
  • Actively involved with ongoing fleet wide continuous improvement
     


Minimum Education required of the position:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical field, or equivalent work experience

 
Minimum Experience required of the position:

  • 10+ years in plant operations or equivalent work experience; 5 years of which are in a leadership role
  • Desired:  candidate with relevant plant outage management and stage gate process experience, remote workforce experience 

 
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position:

  • Physical capability to perform plant site walkdowns / assessment reviews and provide in-field outage, modification, project, and staff oversight.
  • Ability to travel regularly to sites under within their region
