Assist the Emergency Planning function/leadership in the overall management and administration of the fleet's emergency preparedness program.


Participate, as assigned, in the development, installation, implementation, and inspection of fleet emergency planning projects or changes.

Maintain awareness of federal regulations, guidance and directives (NRC, FEMA, EPA, HHS, DHS, etc.) that have implications for emergency planning activities. Develop fleet-wide responses to NRC directives and federal regulations.

Coordinate activities with site EP departments to maximize efficiency, and to direct resources where they are most needed to benefit the fleet.

Respond to sites as directed by Emergency Planning leadership when issues arise that require additional expertise and/or oversight.

Supervise, as assigned, contractors conducting fleet emergency planning projects or changes.

Represent the company at industry working group meetings, conferences, and other external Emergency Planning related activities.


Minimum education required of the position

B.S. degree in Engineering or other discipline generally associated with power plant operations or equivalent experience.


Minimum experience required of the position
5 or more years experience in nuclear power activities such as Health Physics, Chemistry, Operations, Maintenance or Environmental Protection.


Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
Technical proficiency in Emergency Planning. Technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operation.


Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position
Desired: SRO license or certification on a PWR or BWR.
