Job Summary/Purpose

The Sr. Manager, Procurement Engineering and Commercial Grade Dedication (PE/CGD) leads a department of 4 supervisors and 36 engineers and lab technicians. This position is accountable for full compliance in all procurement engineering responsibilities and for working with the business to safely deliver the highest possible value to Entergy from the PE/CGD programs. The Sr. Mgr., PE/CGD develops strategy with the business and ensures effective delivery on the ground all in compliance with PE/CGD processes, all applicable QAPM and regulatory requirements.


This position coordinates with management in Materials, Purchasing and Contracts personnel in Supply Chain, other Entergy organizations, and external organizations as required for resolution of issues related to procurement of materials and services.


Summary Job Duties


Safety/Human Performance: Ensures the PE/CGD Department always places safety first. Actively promotes strong safety behaviors, utilizing key tools such as Close Call /Good Catch in addition to frequent field visits to review standards and behaviors. Monitors and influences suppliers to proactively identify safety concerns.


Strategy: Works closely with Nuclear Site VPs, Supply Chain leadership, Engineering and Finance to develop and document a strategy that prioritizes PE/CG actions over the next 3-5 years. The strategy must be underpinned with organizational clarity, optimized process and measurable performance indicators that demonstrate progress and value generated.


Oversight & Governance: Provide governance and oversight of the procurement engineering supervision and staff to ensure the PE / CGD resources are leveraged to deliver maximum value. Ensure that correct technical and quality requirements are applied to the purchase, QC receipt inspection, and storage of materials. Manage the CGD lab supervision and staff to ensure proper execution of CGD testing and inspection requirements, implementation of the Enhanced Procurement Process, and other material testing activities.


Partnership: Accountable for establishing and maintaining healthy and positive stakeholder relationships across the nuclear fleet, within Supply Chain, and external stakeholders. This activity includes establishing cross-functional and cross-sector teams with key stakeholders and creating a multi-year demand plan with integrated supply chain solutions.


People Leadership: Oversees Supply Chain’s Talent Management Strategy of direct and indirect reports to assure the right Supply Chain talent is recruited, developed, retained, and deployed per key business priorities. Mentors and coaches direct staff.  Act on behalf of senior leadership as required.


Culture: At all times the Sr Manager, PE & CGD shall operate with the highest ethical standards and in full compliance with internal controls, policies, procedures, regulations, and laws. Working with other Supply Chain departments, supports Entergy’s Supplier Diversity & Local Spend objectives. 


Minimum Requirements

Minimum education required of the position

Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other scientific discipline generally associated with power plant operations or equivalent work experience.

Preferred:  MS/MBA degree


Minimum experience required of the position

10 years of experience in Supply Chain and/or nuclear power design, construction, maintenance, operations, engineering or equivalent.  5 years of supervisory/management experience.


Desired licenses are: SRO License or certification on a PWR or BWR, Professional Engineering License, CPM Certification, PMP Certification, Six Sigma Certification.


Desired knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position

Track record of leadership and ability to create clear business cases and strategy

Outstanding communication, including the ability to simply communicate key points to senior management. 

Strong conflict management, influencing and change management skills are required.

Advanced skills in strategic plan development and execution. 

Understanding of fundamentals in procurement engineering, materials testing, procurement, warehousing, QC Receipt Inspection. 

Knowledge of nuclear process and Regulatory/Quality requirements. Knowledge of nuclear plant technology, systems and components. 

Ability to work with interfacing management functions (Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Work Management, Maintenance, Project Management, Engineering, etc.), regulators, manufacturers and suppliers.
