Job Summary/Purpose

This position is responsible for the safe and reliable operation of the Transmission and Distribution electrical systems including the statewide strategic direction and customer centric focus.

 

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • This position is responsible for the safe and reliable operation of the Transmission and Distribution electrical systems including the statewide strategic direction and customer centric focus
  • Maintain a culture of inclusion, engagement, and respect across the organization in support of Entergy’s Diversity & Inclusion initiatives and Organizational Health
  • Partner with Operating Company presidents on portfolio and operational excellence objective(s) that deliver on customer and reliability desired outcomes taking into consideration the risk model needed for success of the Power Delivery state organizations.
  • Provide strategic and technical direction for transmission and distribution business leaders
  • Establish, maintain, and develop a high-performance organization focused on delivering service in a manner that improves customer satisfaction, achieves strategic customer satisfaction goals as measured by net promoter score, commit dates (% met), and customer complaints (# and speed to resolve), support revenue growth & customer service through effective, timely engineering and construction of facilities to meet customer needs, and manage spending within approved targets for Capital and O&M while identifying efficiencies through continuous improvement efforts
  • Direct operations processes, practices and procedures to ensure compliance in the areas of mandated training, compliance (NERC/SERC), corrective action program, change management and continuous improvement
  • Incident commander during major events.  Prepare and execute response to outage events for localized and major events.
  • Operate in a matrixed organization with project delivery, chief engineer and operations to accomplish enterprise objectives
  • Liaison with senior internal leadership, community leaders, elected officials and major customers to accomplish strategic imperatives
  • Implement actions to support a resilient Power Delivery electrical system
  • Provide direction to ensure the reliable operation of the Bulk Electric System (“BES”) and for the effective and reliable service for all customers including industrial, wholesale and retail classes.
  • Support regulatory, legal, and governmental actions that deliver value to key stakeholders
  • Prepare and/or coordinate the preparation of function specific testimony as required for civil and regulatory actions, serving as a Company expert and/or witness when required
  • Organize for the preparation of accurate spending forecasts in near- and longer-term budget periods supporting the Corporation's management of funds and projections of results
  • Establish flexibility and contingencies which support responding to changing spending priorities

 

Minimum Requirements

Minimum education required of the position

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical or business-related field required or equivalent work experience.

 

Minimum experience required of the position

  • 15 years professional experience and 10 years leadership experience.

 

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position

  • Engaged leader with a documented legacy of strategic leadership with specific accomplishments in leading and influencing across organizations, implementing safety and reliability improvements, improving organizational health, transforming organizations and improving customer centricity.  
  • Solid understanding of the transmission and distribution electrical systems with specific knowledge of applicable NERC standards and requirements that support the reliable operation of the BES.  
  • Able to build, motivate and inspire effective teams and leverage team diversity.  
  • Expert at managing conflict, providing clear direction, role clarity and developing employees.  
  • Legacy of building productive relationships across the organization and with external parties.  
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams to effectively diagnose problems and implement corrective actions to drive continuous improvement.
