Job Summary/Purpose

Supports Utility Operations in the management of developing safety trainingprograms/strategy/presentations/workshops/communications/policy/rules.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Work with Jurisdictional Safety Team to ensure effective implementation of safety programs and the creation of new programs fromanalyzing audit/observation/assessment information and consistent system-wide application of safety processes and procedures across theJurisdiction.
Supports the contract workforce, including, but not limited to: Investigate Contractor Incidents and Safety related issues on Entergy System,Perform Field Observations to assure compliance of OSHA Regulations and Entergy Safety Rules and Procedures, Assist Contractor SafetyDepartment during Accident Investigations and Support Contractor Training of Entergy Safety Rules and Procedures.
Supports the contract workforce, including, but not limited to: Investigate Contractor Incidents and Safety related issues on Entergy System,Perform Field Observations to assure compliance of OSHA Regulations and Entergy Safety Rules and Procedures, Assist Contractor SafetyDepartment during Accident Investigations and Support Contractor Training of Entergy Safety Rules and Procedures.
Must be familiar with and have the ability to interpret OSHA regulations and provide guidance to management on the proper application ofthese regulations in the workplace.


Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent.

Desired: Bachelor's degree, preferably in the area of Safety, or equivalent work experience.

Minimum experience required of the position
Safety Specialist II: 4-6 years of related experience
Safety Specialist III: 7-10 years of related experience
Sr. Safety Specialist: 11-14 years of related experience
Preferred: Previous distribution and substation experience

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position

Excellent oral and written communication skills so as to interact effectively with all levels of employees (Craft through Director/VP). Ability toinfluence and motivate a diverse and geographically dispersed work force dealing with a wide variety of safety and training issues. Must be familiarwith and have the ability to interpret OSHA regulations and provide guidance to management on the proper application of these regulations in theworkplace. Strong knowledge of computers and related technology. Ability to work irregular hours and out of town assignments as required. Strongleadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to take and understand directives and complete tasks. Ability to make timely and safedecisions. Excellent knowledge of Entergy's safety policies and procedures. Strong problem solver. Ability to manage multiple activities andchanging priorities. Ability to work well under pressure. Self motivated and dependable team player. Ability to recognize hazards in the workplaceand have the ability to mitigate the hazards. Ability to maintain and care for Company equipment properly and safeguard assets. Ability to meet thepublic in a pleasant and tactful manner and understand the importance of delivering a high level of customer service. Demonstrated acceptance ofa diverse and inclusive work environment and customer base. Desired: Ability to recognize opportunities for process improvement and have theability to enact change
