SUMMARY:
As an Environmental Analyst at Entergy, you play a critical role in developing and implementing processes to ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations that affect the electrical utility industry. Working primarily in an office setting, you will utilize your expertise and Entergy's standards to provide guidance to operations personnel on environmental issues, regulatory compliance, and permitting processes. Using knowledge and expertise, conducts assessments of operational locations to ensure compliance, and if needed, taking necessary actions to close gaps in compliance. Routinely serves on special work teams and uses expert technical knowledge to support new and ongoing projects.
Duties
- Provide expert guidance to operations personnel to ensure environmental regulatory compliance
- Provide oversight or project management for environmental projects
- Conduct site assessments of operational locations to ensure environmental compliance, documenting findings as required, and taking necessary action to close any identified gaps
- Prepare regulatory required environmental reports
- Maintain required environmental records and documentation for operations
- Deliver environmental training to operations personnel as required by applicable regulations and company procedures
- Provide environmental compliance support to respond to spills and releases, and make notifications as required by applicable regulations
- Manage waste handling and disposal, and manifesting activities
- Coordinate environmental sampling and testing activities as required by applicable regulations
- Participate in work groups to support new and ongoing projects
- Identify and execute continuous improvement opportunities
- Manage records and documentation pertaining to compliance programs in accordance with the records retention policy
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required for the position
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience
Minimum experience required of the position
- Analyst – Environmental II: 2+ years of experience handling environmental compliance activities.
- Analyst – Environmental III: 4+ years of experience handling environmental compliance activities.
- Analyst – Environmental Senior.: 6+ years of experience handling environmental compliance activities
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position
- Applicant must be physically able to conduct field environmental investigations.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple work tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team setting.
- Strong attention to details.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Self-starter and requires little or no supervision.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products.

- Willing and able to perform other unrelated duties as required and learn new processes and technologies.
