JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

The Mgr, Warehouse Ops (Dist.) reports to the Sr Mgr, WIL. This leadership role oversees safe and efficient warehousing operations including receiving, storing, maintaining, issuing, distributing, and returning of Distribution materials throughout the regional area including the Entergy Distribution Center and associated Network Storeroom locations.  As this leader is accountable for up to 50 employees and contractors across 45+ locations, building and maintaining a strong culture of safety and operational excellence will be imperative.  This role will drive the use of standardized practices, housekeeping, equipment, technology, and ERP-enabled processes and controls with a continuous improvement mindset.

 

The Mgr, Warehouse Ops (Dist.) will integrate with their peers, customers, contract partners, and other supply chain functions to set service levels as well as operational performance goals and standards and to develop and sustain key metrics to enable consistent operations and continuous improvement.

 

This position will be located at Entergy’s Central Distribution Center in Little Rock, AR.  The position will require a minimum 20% travel to the field and corporate offices across the fleet.

 

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Safety/Human Performance: Ensures the Team always puts safety first. Actively promotes strong safety behaviors, utilizing key tools and regular proactive field visits to review standards and behaviors. Monitors and influences suppliers to proactively identify and resolve any safety concerns.
  • Integrated Asset Materials Service: Accountable for the execution of the multi-year strategic roadmap to world class, including optimizing the capital required for inventory, establishing clear service levels that incorporate an acceptable risk profile, partnering with customers to obtain feedback on performance, assuring execution oversight and delivery of all daily warehouse operations, monitoring key financial and operational performance indicators to drive results, ensuring key processes, systems and interfaces are effective and as efficient as possible, and establishing clarity and expectations in the customer interfaces to our processes.
  • Warehouse Optimization: Executes the ongoing optimization and improvement of the company’s warehouse operations in alignment with end-to-end support from Work Management to Delivery to Operations in the field. This activity includes review of physical structures, unit cost structure, supporting new technology, workforce capabilities, planning, development, and diversity
  • Budget and Cost Prudency:  Responsible for the efficient management of budget and cost for overall operations. 
  • Performance and Partnership: Maintains a strong customer focus that balances value and service level, in service to the large internal customer base with mission-critical services. The performance of this position has a direct impact on the company’s finances, reliability, external customer satisfaction, and ability to deliver on its commitments 
  • Business Continuity: Manages the planning, development, testing, and execution of disaster recovery operations in their respective regional area in support of the operating business units as a a critical part of the Supply Chain Incident Response structure. This function is critical given the company’s exposure to weather and other events, and the necessity of the services the company provides to its customers and communities
  • Service Orientation: Accountable for establishing and maintaining healthy and positive stakeholder relationships. Aligns with customers around service level indicators and plans for monitoring and improving them; knows the plans of its customer base and uses them to identify and prioritize improvements
  • People Leadership: Leverages Supply Chain’s Talent Management Strategy to assure the right Supply Chain talent is recruited, developed, retained, and deployed in line with key business priorities. Mentors and coaches staff with a focus on succession planning and the overall health of the operational talent pipeline
  • Culture: At all times the Manager Warehouse Ops-WIL Distribution shall operate with the highest ethical standards and in full compliance with internal controls, policies, procedures, regulations, and laws. Accountable through supply base partners to execute Entergy’s Supplier Diversity & Local Spend objectives.
  • Continuous Improvement: Enables a workforce-driven continuous improvement culture to achieve premier financial and operational results. As a leader, enables time & resources to execute continuous improvement opportunities. Participates, engages, and utilizes continuous improvement tools, frameworks, principles, and professional training as a standard

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 

Minimum education required of the position

Supply Chain degree or Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent experience.

MS/MBA degree preferred. Professional supply chain/procurement certification preferred.

 

Minimum experience required of the position

10+ years of experience in materials/warehousing, purchasing, contracts or project management. 3 years of supervisory experience and/or equivalent leadership experience. Related energy Supply Chain experience preferred.

  • Leadership experience in an operational environment, with experience leading non-exempt and / or bargaining unit employees preferred
  • Experience with process optimization and continuous improvement preferred
