Works directly with Project Manager and Controls Manager to ensure project is delivered with cost and schedule certainty. Manages activities to ensure risks are identified and mitigated. Works directly with CP - Capital Projects Controls to ensure alignment with Stage Gate Process and to ensure that proper project controls are being implemented. Works with CP Project Management and Project Controls to ensure costs are managed; change control is established and controlled; and that contingency is properly controlled. Monitors, oversees and coordinates all site based construction activities including those performed by contractors, vendors and employees. Ensures project site is safe, well organized with good housekeeping and that project quality objectives are achieved. Ensure that all contractual obligations of the company related to site activities are met.


  • Promotes safe behavior and adherence to the safety rules on the project
  • Ensures that all site related Owner obligations are met, such that the Contractor is not delayed
  • Provides the primary interface with the contractor's senior site representative. Works to establish a relationship that promotes open communication and cooperation between the Owner and Contractor site teams
  • Ensures each contractor is constructing the project in accordance with the drawings, specifications and specifics of the contract agreement. Monitors construction progress, and initiate discussions on recovery actions as needed. Reviews Daily Reports submitted by Contractor. Reviews invoices and verify completion of field work prior to approval for payment. Delivers projects with cost and schedule certainty; manages and controls costs; manages risk by identifying and mitigating risks
  • Coordinates with personnel, and service providers, to ensure that the testing and turnover is properly managed. Coordinates with the Contractors Site Representative and the Operations Liaison on all construction interface activities
  • Provides the primary interface with the site operations senior manager where construction is performed on an existing plant site. Works to establish a relationship that promotes open communication and cooperation between the project and operations site teams.

Minimum education required of the position:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field or equivalent work experience (detailed below)

Minimum experience required of the position:

  • With degree: 10 years of relevant experience in transmission construction, engineering and/or project management
  • Without degree: 14 years of relevant experience in transmission construction, engineering and/or project management

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position:

  • Knowledge of project and construction management fundamentals
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology to transmission work
  • This includes applying principles, techniques and procedures to the design, construction, close out and operations of transmission work
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction of transmission scope of work

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position

  • Preferred: PMP certification
