Job Title: Accountant I (Internal Management Reporting Systems)

Job Responsibilities 

  • The accounting organization has a need for a strong individual to join the General Ledger & Reporting Team.
  • This team is primarily responsible for maintaining Entergy's financial and cost reporting systems.
  • The position will be primarily involved in various aspects of the reporting functions including the following:
  • Provide guidance to customers on how best to use Cognos Cost Reporting & Analysis and Financial Reporting to gather and analyze data for standard and non-standard reporting needs
  • Liaison with IT reporting support
  • Supporting ad hoc data requests for rate cases and other management reporting needs
  • Supporting system upgrades and testing of system enhancements
  • Coordinating and executing reporting archiving process
  • Provided system training to customers
  • Manager User Access Requests
  • Execute Sox Controls Testing related to financial and cost reporting

 

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, ISDN or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Accountant I: 1 - 3 years of accounting or relevant experience.

 

Minimum Knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position:

  • Working knowledge of Entergy business and processes
  • Knowledge of accounting controls and processes
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Displays strong analytical skills by efficiently using knowledge of tools and business processes to identify problems and resolve issues
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to understand systems quickly and communicate with IT support efficiently, knowledge of IBM Cognos a plus
