Job Title: Accountant

Job Responsibilities 

  • The accounting organization has a need for a strong individual to join the General Ledger & Reporting Team.
  • This team is primarily responsible for maintaining Entergy's General Ledger monthly close process, chart of accounts, allocation and derivation processes, and financial reporting systems.
  • The position will be primarily involved in management of the account reconciliation system/process including the following:
  • Maintaining reconciliation profiles, manage user access and updating risk ratings
  • Consults and troubleshoots system enhancement, issues or interfaces including upstream and downstream impacts
  • Perform oversight of proper reconciliation practices
  • Participates in the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close process
  • Execute Sox Controls and liaises with internal and external auditors

Job Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent work experience. Desired: Advanced Degree.

Accountant I -  0 - 3 years of accounting or relevant experience.

Accountant II  - 2 - 3 years of accounting or relevant experience

Accountant III -  3+ years accounting or relevant experience 

Minimum Knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position:

Working knowledge of accounting processes and controls. Working knowledge of MS Office applications; Displays strong analytical skills by efficiently using knowledge of tools and business processes to identify problems and resolve issues. Ability  to work independently; Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Strong focus on process improvements. Technical systems-based capabilities desired.
