JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:

The Project Analyst will be the point person for all accounting and finance needs at the project and portfolio levels. Individual will support project execution strategies by evaluating estimates and project costs, ongoing capital and O&M work, data reporting/analysis for management, invoicing, contract management, and forecasting while ensuring alignment with Entergy Project Delivery Standards.  Additionally, the Project Analyst will provide analytical expertise to support project and portfolio management.

This position interfaces directly with Project Managers and his/her leadership, providing insight into the financial health of a project.

 

 JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide financial guidance to ensure financial situations are transparent to management and core project team
  • Works closely with project teams in preparing the monthly Present Estimate (PE)
  • Responsible for financial tasks related to change requests
  • Maintain work orders from initiation to closure in PowerPlan
  • Partner with Finance on corrections
  • Responsible for submitting monthly accruals
  • Support Project Managers in determining variances in financial metrics
  • Oversee financial project milestones
  • Interface with project team(s) as necessary for cost control monitoring, analysis and reporting.
  • Provide day-to-day detailed monitoring and analysis of project budgets and actuals
  • Support projects as they navigate through the project life cycle, including gate audits related to financials
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement efforts related to process efficiency and value

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum education required of the position

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical or business-related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Desired: Master's Degree.

 

 Minimum experience required of the position

  • Analyst I: 0 - 2 years of professional experience 
  • Analyst II:  2 - 4 years of professional experience 
  • Analyst III: 4 - 6 years of professional experience 
  • Analyst Sr: 6+ years professional experience 

 

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilties:

  • Proficient in MS Word,  Excel, and Powerpoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in writing requirements (e.g., business requirements, use case, functional specs)
  • Entry-level project management
  • Good organizational skills required with the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Working knowledge of the electric T&D systems
  • Good computer knowledge regarding Entergy's core T&D software applications and systems (ADMS, GIS, TOMS, etc.)
  • Must be able to lead and work with other personnel, departments, and organizations as part of a team to provide high customer satisfaction
