JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
The group oversees, administers, and audits the Entergy Shared Services (ESS) policies, procedures, and processes that guide the organization’s standard way of working. The position will work closely with all Entergy Shared Services (ESS) departments to ensure that processes are well documented, readily available, and effective. This role also supports and assists the organization and its customers with reporting, auditing, and consultative support to ensure they remain in full compliance with internal controls, policies, procedures, regulations and laws. The position delivers value to the company by supporting ongoing process improvement; ensuring compliance with internal controls, policies, procedures, regulations and laws; and ensuring Entergy’s Shared Services (ESS) standard way of working.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in drafting compliance policies when needed, with a specific focus on Drugs & Alcohol and DOT compliance
- Collaborate and coordinate with other business units to develop, implement, and refine compliance policies
- Support the development, coordination, and implementation of risk management plans relating to employment laws, with guidance from the Legal & Compliance teams
- Assist in the implementation of a Compliance training program, with a focus on Drugs & Alcohol and DOT policies
- Work with other teams to understand and identify risk areas in their departments
- Assists in developing action plans based upon the findings of internal reviews and conduct internal follow-up as needed around implementation
- Provides support to ensure compliance is being met across the various locations and jurisdictions (federal, state, local).
- Provides support to ensure Company's processes, procedures, systems, reports, controls, etc. meet federal, state, and local requirements.
- Supports alignment with external regulations and internal company compliance requirements.
- Supports the implementation of regulatory or process changes, in partnership with other business units, to improve compliance with organizational standards.
- Supports routine audits to monitor compliance with company policies, regulatory standards, and federal, state, and local employment laws to minimize risk.
- Performs simple risk assessments of potential compliance gaps and assists in developing priorities and roadmaps for future initiatives.
- Consults on the development of compliance resources including job aids, communications, training materials, etc.
- Compiles, analyzes, and reports data and metrics for Compliance related matters, such as Drugs & Alcohol testing and Driver qualification files.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education and experience required of the position
Compliance Analyst I: Bachelor’s Degree (Human Resources, Business Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field) OR in lieu of degree, minimum 4 years of relevant compliance-related experience
Compliance Analyst II: Bachelor’s Degree (Human Resources, Business Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field) and minimum 6+ years of compliance related experience; OR in lieu of degree, minimum 10+ years of relevant compliance related experience
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
- Ability to understand & interpret data, analyze trends and identify actionable insights.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Communication skills—Excellent oral and written communication skills including ability to effectively convey complex technical or legal concepts in understandable terms both in writing and verbally; deliver oral presentations to diverse groups
- Problem Solving skills—uses analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions
- Results driven self-starter
- Ability to handle & maintain confidential information.
- Expert in balancing multiple priorities, stakeholders and work streams simultaneously.
