JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:

 

 

The Director of AI Enablement will be a strategic leader who will play a key role in Entergy’s drive to leverage AI (including generative AI, and data analytics) to achieve its Path-to-Premier goals. The Director will develop and lead an enablement and democratization strategy and vision centered on defining and executing a comprehensive approach to make AI accessible across the enterprise, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy, digital transformation goals, and responsible AI principles. This involves partnering with business and technology leaders to identify opportunities for low-code and no-code AI, automation, and AI-assisted decision-making while establishing success metrics to measure adoption, impact, and ethical compliance. In support of this vision, the role oversees the deployment of enterprise AI enablement platforms that provide safe, scalable access to generative AI, machine learning, and automation tools. Working closely with IT, Data, and Security teams, the individual ensures that the necessary infrastructure, data access, and governance guardrails are in place to support widespread AI use. They also evaluate emerging AI tools and technologies to foster innovation and operational efficiency across business units. A strong emphasis is placed on responsible AI usage. The individual collaborates with Risk, Compliance, Human Resources, and Legal teams to ensure that democratized AI usage adheres to ethical, privacy, and regulatory standards. They define and communicate clear policies, usage guidelines, and approval workflows for AI tools and applications, while implementing monitoring processes to assess model fairness, transparency, and performance in citizen-led AI initiatives. Education, literacy, and culture are critical pillars of AI democratization. The role involves developing and leading enterprise AI literacy, training, and certification programs designed to build confidence and capability among non-technical employees. It also includes fostering communities of practice and internal evangelism programs to share AI use cases, best practices, and success stories to embed AI skills within talent development frameworks. Finally, the role drives change management and adoption efforts, fostering an organizational mindset that embraces AI as a collaborative “co-pilot” in daily operations. Partnering with business leaders, the individual identifies and scales practical use cases that deliver tangible value from democratized AI adoption, measuring adoption rates, user satisfaction, and business outcomes to continuously refine enablement strategies and ensure sustained impact.

 

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

 

1. Organizational Leadership: Provide inspirational leadership to the Enablement team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, promoting professional growth and collaboration. Establish a positive and inclusive work environment that values diversity and encourages open communication.

2. Governance. Develop and implement governance standards, policies, and processes that will ensure that AI solutions are identified, developed, and deployed in order to generate strategic business value while managing risks and complying with legal, ethical, and responsible AI regulations. Collaborate with business leaders and AI teams in the design and implementation of governance policies and procedures. Supervise and set direction for the AI Governance team that will facilitate and support activities of the AI Governance Committee in establishing responsible AI policies and procedures.

3. Strategy and Direction. Lead and provide strategic direction to AI stakeholders, education and enablement, and change management teams. Recruit, train, and retain top talent to generate consistent high performance

for these teams. Oversee their activities, as described in more detail below, to ensure active collaboration, knowledge sharing, and accountability for results.

4. Change within the Organization: In conjunction with other change management leaders and functions, identifying organizational changes resulting from digital transformation. Develop comprehensive change plans in collaboration with leaders, ensuring smooth transitions. This involves developing comprehensive change plans, facilitating the integration of new tools into existing business processes, reimagining roles and responsibilities, and providing unwavering support through communications, training, and coaching. Provide communications to senior management on the status of AI adoption throughout the enterprise.

5. Organizational performance management. Oversee the monitoring and reporting of metrics and compliance with established AI and data governance standards and policies. Oversee the development and implementation, including providing guidance and training to users teams on the use of product development methodologies, templates, tools, and processes. Establish success metrics to track adoption, impact, and ethical compliance of AI democratization efforts.

6. AI enablement. Drives initiatives that make AI accessible, safe, and valuable for all employees — from business analysts to domain experts — through scalable tools, governance frameworks, education, and community programs. The role blends strategy, technology, and change management to embed AI into everyday work and decision-making.

7. Education and Enablement. Direct all activities of a team of training specialists and technical analysts in developing and implementing a comprehensive program that facilitates the development of AI skills across the enterprise. Champion the development of a community of AI practitioners throughout the company who are engaged in sharing learnings and capabilities. Oversee the design and development of knowledge-sharing content such as training collateral, quick-start guides, and product demos. Promote engagement with third-party providers of training content and tools to encourage continuous improvement of program offerings and methods. stablish partnerships with AI product teams as well as other business and analyst groups throughout the company to encourage participation, either as trainers and content providers or as trainees.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 

 

Minimum education required of the position

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, STEM, IT, Economics, Analytics, or related field Preferred Advance Degree in above fields or related field (Master’s or Doctorate)

 

Minimum experience required of the position

10 + years of experience in technology working with collaboration tools and driving organization-wide technology adoption or AI enablement programs. Strong understanding of AI technologies (including generative AI), data governance, and responsible AI frameworks.

 

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position

The ideal candidate will bring a track record of hands-on experience with governance, reflecting both technical proficiency and strategic leadership capabilities. · Passion for responsible innovation and empowering teams through technology. · Experience implementing AI platforms or tools for non-technical users (e.g., copilots, low-code ML, or embedded AI applications). · Experience in leading strategic or digital transformation initiatives. · Strong consulting skills with ability to influence leaders and stakeholders at all levels. · Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. · Strong understanding of AI, data analytics, machine learning, and process automation principles, tools, and techniques. · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. · Experience with tools and technologies related to governance, project management, agile development, process and product design, automation, business intelligence, and budgeting. · Adaptability and positive attitude towards change.

 Experience in the energy and utility industry preferred.
