Continuous Improvement (CI) is a key priority in our journey to becoming the Premier Utility. In 2020, a centralized CI function was established, responsible for increasing adoption of continuous improvement practices at Entergy to maximize sustainable value for our stakeholders.


The CI business model consists of an Office of Strategy Management, CI Deployment, Intelligent Automation and a CI Business Partner (CIBP) focus to enable opportunities to maximize end-to-end value across the company’s business functions.


The role of Dir, CIBP will report directly to the Vice President, Continuous Improvement; serve as a strategic CI leader and lead the CIBP function. The Dir, CIBP will provide oversight to the CIBPs who are consulting and providing solution frameworks to business leaders, is responsible for the overall CIBP portfolio and will drive a common approach in the CIBP function. The Dir, CIBP will direct the work of the business partner team, who function as strategic partners with the business function leaders to develop and execute BU CI strategies supporting organizational goals and that incorporate enterprise strategies developed by the CI Office of Strategy Management. The CIBP function will be jointly accountable with the business functions to achieve set goals and targets.


Preferred office location is any of Entergy’s corporate/regional office facilities.



  • Actively promote strong safety behaviors, utilizing key tools such as Close Call/Good Catch in addition to proactive field visits to review standards and behaviors.
  • Drive a common approach for the CIBP team to partner with business functions to help advance our workforce and culture to a CI mindset.
  • Accountable for CIBP team to coordinate potential opportunities with business unit leaders to include CI in business function strategic plan and annual operation plan development.
  • Lead CIBP organization to effectively support business functions to maintain integrity of the established CI Operating Model and its associated Operating Principles, defining service level expectations and a sustained performance management system, accountable to achieve mutual outcomes.
  • Drive CIBP team to leverage continuous improvement methodologies and tools, including automation, to meet process improvement objectives, add value and achieve set goals/targets.
  • Support CIBP team in enabling the business through regular communications and updates, knowledge of education and training opportunities, coaching and support.
  • Responsible for consistency in the development, measurement, and communication of CI performance results to senior leadership.



Minimum education and experience required of the position

Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or business-related field and 12+ years of related professional experience is required OR in lieu of degree minimum 16+ years of professional experience is required


Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position

  • Well-organized with excellent written and verbal communication, reporting and presentation skills
  • Analytical skill set with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge and experience with process improvement tools and methods is preferred (e.g. Lean, Six-Sigma, Agile, Process Mapping, Intelligent Automation)
  • Proven experience with analyzing data for insights to drive better business decisions
  • Demonstrated experience partnering and consulting with senior and executive leaders, including identifying needs, developing comprehensive plans, identifying deliverables and presenting results/recommendations to enable outcomes
  • Complex problem-solving skills
  • Strong sense of accountability
  • Ability to effectively communicate with and influence leaders to own continuous improvement activities in their business functions
