JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

The IT Operational Governance & Execution Analyst will represent the Operational Governance & Execution group within the IT department.  The Operational Governance & Execution team provides multiple services to the enterprise, including IT Configuration Management, Application Mapping, Change Management, Release Management, Vulnerability Management, among others. The Analyst will be part of the team that maintains the configuration management database (CMDB) which contains configuration item records (CIs) representing the devices, applications, and software that comprise our operational environment.

 

The role requires both tactical and strategic analysis and decision making. The individual performing this role must be able to evaluate multiple programs and processes both internal and external to the group to predict and plan for unexpected consequences and business needs.

 

The Individual in this role will need strong communication skills to work with individuals and teams both technical and business oriented. Additionally, the ability to understand processes end to end, and an understanding of agile will be required to be successful.

 

 

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • CMDB Stakeholder Support
    • Support CI owner groups, ensuring CI lifecycle management processes align with best practices.
    • Support and provide analysis for Configuration Item Owners performing including commissioning & decommissioning, data quality certifications, change management, vulnerability management.
    • Drive customer centricity by soliciting and responding to feedback to improve overall experience with CMDB.

 

  • CMDB Discovery and Ingest
    • Support Discovery Lead in the development, deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of discovery patterns and pre/postscripts.
    • Provide analysis for non-ServiceNow Discovered CIs maintained by supporting tools like Scalable, Bigfix, etc.
    • Identify and remediate CIs brought into the CMDB using non-compliant methods.

 

  • CMDB Health and Reporting
    • Implement data-driven policies to improve CMDB health.
    • Develop forms, dashboards and workflows that drive successful outcomes for CMDB stakeholders.
    • Use proactive data mining to identify and remediate process gaps.

 

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required of the position.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.

 

Minimum experience required of the position.

2 years of relevant experience required

2+ years of experience with ServiceNow ITIL, CMDB, Service Catalogs, ITSM

 

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position.

 

  • The following skills and technologies are considered a strong plus:
    • IT Change Management experience.
    • ServiceNow Discovery experience.
    • ServiceNow CMDB experience.
    • Experience working with ITIL methodologies.
    • Continuous Improvement methodologies or certifications

 

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position.

None, but relevant ServiceNow certifications are a plus.
