JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE 

The Information Technology (IT), Supplier Delivery team is responsible for delivering business outcomes through contract and performance management for its vendor partners. The team is split into three core complimentary functions: Performance Monitoring, Contract Management, and Financial Management. This role will be responsible for the financial support function validating invoice and billing accuracy in coordination with Tax, Finance and the Performance Monitoring team as well as financial analysis related to contract changes or contracting strategies. This highly visible role on the team will provide financial analysis and support to multiple stakeholders across IT towers and corporate teams. The role will interact regularly with senior leaders and provide expert financial advice to enable IT to better deliver reliable, secure, predictable, and cost-effective service.

 

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare monthly summary of actual financial performance against planned and current estimates
  • Manage the long-term forecast and financial model to inform strategic planning and provide insights to management
  • Actively identify, monitor, and manage risks and opportunities
  • Support annual budgeting processes
  • Provide analytical decision support for continuous improvement initiatives and strategic decisions
  • Support the month-end close processes
  • Prepare insightful analytics for leadership team
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing reporting processes and key metrics tracking
  • Build & create financial models and what-if analysis
  • Develop a strong understanding of Information Technology operations and financial processes through exposure to various levels of management
  • Ensure compliance with applicable GAAP, SOX, and company guidelines

 

 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum experience and education required of the position:

IT Specialist II: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field and 2+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related field is required OR in lieu of a degree 6+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related field is required.

 

IT Specialist Sr: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field and 4+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related field is required OR in lieu of a degree 8+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related field is required.

 

IT Consultant: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field and 6+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related field is required OR in lieu of a degree 10+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related field is required

 

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
Knowledge of the utility industry and/or familiarity with general financial and strategic processes. Superior analytical, critical thinking and quantitative skills.  Driven for results with a high sense of urgency.  Ability to work independently, multi-task, & effectively prioritize work to meet deadlines.  Familiarity with Power BI a plus. Highly proficient using Excel with strong attention to detail required. Strong communication skills and comfort working with internal stakeholders, including senior leadership. A self-starter with a positive attitude and ability to work in a rapidly changing environment is required for this role. Demonstrated financial acumen and a track record of leveraging data for business impact is a plus. 

 

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position
CPA, CMA, or MBA is a plus
