Job Title: IT Manager, End User Computing

The IT Manager over end user computing is responsible for the delivery and oversight of the technologies and infrastructure that support end user computing and the desktop experience for 18K+ workstations throughout the Entergy environment. They will lead a team managing desktop imaging, application packaging, patch management, desktop threat vulnerability management, and desktop asset and lifecycle management. The leader is also responsible for delivering assigned projects on time, on budget, and in adherence to business requirements while standardizing/rationalizing technical platforms.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Manage a team of IT Specialists, Engineers, Solutions Architects, subject matter experts and contractors in the support of the end user computing technologies and infrastructure.

· Develop a technology roadmap and strategy in coordination with appropriate Business Units to ensure alignment across multiple products and platforms.

· Drive strategic development of the end user desktop experience using Continuous Improvement tools and processes to enhance the desktop platform and user experience.

· Actively manage vendor relationships and contractor teams to ensure service levels meet Entergy standards.

· Ensure compliance with all project deployment methodologies, internal standards, and operational guidelines to support and maintain solutions per stated service level agreements.

· Plan and manage resources within the End User Computing team, forecasting potential bottlenecks or gaps based on future demand.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum education required of the position

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience

 

Minimum experience required of the position

7+ years of experience managing IT support resources

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position

· Strong working knowledge of infrastructure and software development lifecycle supporting end user computing.

· Demonstrated ability to be a strong leader across diverse teams.

· Experience delivering projects in outsourced environments and matrixed organizations

· Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts in layman’s terms.

· Proven track record of providing excellent customer service.

· Ability to lead a team of both technical and nontechnical resources effectively.

· Readiness for 24/7 on-call when needed.
