JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

The Manager of Corporate Planning leads a team that maintains the system for the 5 year forecast. The role also includes serving as the overall administration for the Utilities International products at Entergy


JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
This manager oversees the operation of the forecast system which includes 4 modules (spending, tax, asset, & financial plan).  This includes governance on upgrades, improvements, and modifications to the systems to facilitate a better forecast process.  This includes facilitating process improvement teams for the forecasting system and SME peer group meetings.

 

Support annual updates to budget assumptions.

 

Monitor recast results vs. targets and work with functions / budgeting group to resolve gaps or recast / budgeting issues.

 

Participate in the process to report and explain financial performance to Entergy's CFO and management team. Identify accounting and financial issues and participate in the process to resolve these issues with assistance from others in the Accounting/Finance department.

 

Working with business partners, participate in the process to design / execute business, discuss and prioritize system enhancements, and accounting solutions to complex issues.

 

This role also serves as the overall administrator for the Utilities International products at Entergy.  This includes coordination of upgrades, system outages, coordination of server and application issues, maintaining the vendor relationship, and liaison with IT resources on all issues.

 

This role also has staff that reports directly to this role. 

 

 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required of the position.
Requires a college or university degree in Finance, Mathematics, Business, or Accounting or related field (or equivalent work experience)


Minimum experience required of the position
6+ years, with financial lead roles highly desired.


Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
Skills:

  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to communicate externally and at all levels of the organization. 
  • Proficiency in PC Windows environment and ability to work with financial systems.  
  • Process design and optimization experience desired.
  • Useful if the candidate has some experience
    • Managing technical projects or software
    • Administration/use of the Utilities International Forecast and/or Asset modules

 Abilities:

  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation.
  • Systems Thinking:  Understanding of information technology systems and data management processes
  • Customer Focus:  Provide user support for the ~100 users of the Forecast and Asset modules.

 
Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position
CPA or CFA desirable.
