Job Summary

The OT Infrastructure Manager is responsible for overseeing the IT – OT Infrastructure hosting environment within a heavily regulated NERC CIP (North American Electric Reliability Corporation Critical Infrastructure Protection) framework. This includes the design, build, and ongoing support of Windows and Red Hat Linux servers, Windows workstations, VMware and Nutanix virtualization platforms, NetApp and Isilon storage, and Commvault backup/recovery software platform, as well as disaster recovery strategies. The position ensures the stability, security, and efficiency of hosting services, supporting business-critical operational technology applications and services for a large-scale utility enterprise. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in managing highly regulated enterprise environments, optimizing performance, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations, directly contributing to operational efficiency and safety.

 

Key Responsibilities

Hosting Infrastructure Management

  • Lead the administration, maintenance, and optimization of Windows 10/11, Windows Server, and Red Hat Linux environments and underlying hardware platforms (Dell/UCS servers, Lenovo workstations).
  • Oversee the administration, maintenance, and optimization of storage and backup/recovery platforms (NetApp, Isilon, Commvault).
  • Develop and implement strategies and delivery plans for Operational Technology (OT) infrastructure, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning for critical infrastructure, achieving a target of 99.9% system uptime.
  • Develop and maintain technology and project roadmaps to build new capabilities and standardize the OT hosting technology portfolio over time.
  • Manage operational budgets, vendor contracts, and project portfolio for the OT Infrastructure team.
  • Drive automation initiatives using industry-leading automation and configuration management tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, BigFix).
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and trends in operational technology, security, server management, and enterprise hosting.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, with a focus on NERC CIP.

 

Operational Excellence & Security

  • Implement and enforce security policies, compliance frameworks, and best practices for OT infrastructure.
  • Manage patching, configuration management, and vulnerability remediation for server, storage, and infrastructure application environments.
  • Monitor and optimize system performance, leveraging automation and observability tools to ensure proactive issue resolution.
  • Lead incident response and root cause analysis efforts for OT Infrastructure-related outages or security incidents.
  • Support NERC CIP, internal security, and third-party audits and assessments.
  • Proactively monitor and assess emerging cybersecurity threats and develop mitigation strategies.

 

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Manage a diverse team of technology administrators and engineers, providing leadership, mentorship, and career development opportunities.
  • Foster a collaborative team culture and promote continuous learning and development, ensuring a diverse and inclusive environment.
  • Collaborate with IT security, application, and network teams to ensure seamless integration and performance across the OT environment.
  • Coordinate with Program Managers, application leads, and vendors to develop/enhance applications, infrastructure, and end-user computing platforms in a timely, cost-effective, reliable, and secure manner.
  • Work closely with Entergy’s Audit, Legal, Supply Chain, Communications, Information Security, and Risk Management organizations to ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies and standards.
  • Build strong relationships with internal Security managers, Telecom managers, IT Program Managers, Business Unit Leaders, and IT Operational Technology organizations to ensure coordination across multiple products.
  • Engage with business stakeholders to understand requirements and align OT infrastructure solutions with organizational goals.
  • Manage vendor relationships, licensing, and service agreements related to OT infrastructure.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of experience managing enterprise hosting environments, including Windows, Linux, and storage platforms.
  • Strong expertise in Windows Server (Active Directory, Group Policy, PowerShell) and Red Hat Linux (RHEL, Satellite, Ansible).
  • Extensive experience in enterprise storage, backup/recovery, and business continuity implementation and strategy development.
  • Familiarity with automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or PowerShell DSC.
  • Understanding of security best practices and compliance frameworks relevant to the utility industry, particularly NERC CIP.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Splunk, Broadcom Unified Infrastructure Manager/DX Netops/Application Portfolio Monitoring/Spectrum, SolarWinds).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Proven experience with disaster recovery planning and implementation.
  • Experience in the utility industry or other highly regulated environments.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft certifications (MCSE, Azure Administrator) or Red Hat certifications (RHCSA, RHCE).
  • Cybersecurity certifications (CISSP, CISM, CISA, CompTIA Security+).
  • Experience managing large-scale projects or initiatives.
  • Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and DevSecOps methodologies.
