JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:

Power Delivery Portfolio Management is a centralized organization within the Project & Portfolio Development organization. This role is responsible for the Power Delivery portfolio management process across the Entergy service territory and within specific Operating Companies - engaging key stakeholders in the development and formulation of the strategic plan for both Transmission & Distribution. This team manages, plans, prioritizes, and monitors transmission and distribution programs and projects, including driving detailed planning and evaluation of estimates early in the project lifecycle, reviewing objectives to ensure alignment with strategic goals, optimizing project execution strategy and prioritization, gathering, and analyzing project performance data, reporting & reviewing the portfolio to ensure effective resource utilization & construction optimization.

 

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitate coordination between Operations and Power Delivery, Operating Companies, and Financial Business Partners.
  • Early engagement with project planning teams to ensure Stage Gate process requirements and deliverables have been met.
  • Facilitate adding or removing projects to the 5-year capital plan.
  • Review and rebalance portfolio by initiating flex projects or pushing/pulling projects with Operating Company approval.
  • Gather and analyze project performance data, provide reporting & review the portfolio to ensure alignment with strategy & effective resource utilization & construction optimization.
  • Monthly portfolio reporting - monitor project and program costs and schedule and adjust for variances. Obtain project cost, schedule and risk data from project development and project controls and evaluate impacts to financial plan and benefits.
  • Prepare presentation and provide operational and financial updates on the portfolio to Power Delivery management and leadership.
  • Perform prioritization of projects based on strategic imperatives, program constraints, and budget/schedule availability.
  • Oversee implementation and usage of Stage Gate Process (T&D) and reporting processes.
  • Capture and analyze results from project investments including benefits achieved & schedule and cost variances to plan.
  • Assist in the MTEP process to prepare and submit projects to MISO for review and approval annually.
  • Respond to regulatory requests.
  • Work with project controls and project execution to forecast project & program estimates at completion (EAC) to elevate budget and closings risks and opportunities.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • MBA or equivalent preferred. 


Minimum Experience:

  • 7 years of progressively responsible experience in the utility industry.
  • Finance, regulatory and/or project management/controls experience preferred.

 

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Solid understanding of the organization's business operations and industry.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership and analytical skills.
  • Desired:
    • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.

    • Must possess a working knowledge of regulatory issues, capital policy, financial and accounting processes, and have the ability to prioritize opportunities based on OPCO objectives.

    • Must be an excellent verbal and written communicator, able to effectively present to senior leadership.

    • Experienced in project management and tools such Excel, PowerPlan, Primavera, Maximo.

    • Detailed oriented and possess excellent organizational skills.

    • In depth understanding of utility regulation and RFPs.

 

Any Certificates, Licenses, etc.:
