JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:
Support regulatory filing teams in providing high quality service and work product while meeting regulatory and jurisdictional filing requirements and deadlines. Directly responsible for the overall quality of service, work paper, analytical and review standards and compliance with Commission filing requirements for the team's jurisdiction(s). Supports the Manager, Regulatory Filings to ensure Operating Companies' and Corporate needs and objectives are met to support regulatory filings and analysis as requested.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the accurate and efficient preparation of regulatory data for filing, including pro forma adjustments to historical per book information; cost of service allocation for filing; and rates for reasonable recovery of the cost to serve in a manner that is equitable to our customers while recognizing corporate financial stability.
  • Ensuring that key issues/decisions are escalated to Operating Company management and others in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the training and development of staff, ensuring staff is cross-trained and developed in overall rate case development
  • Ensure that all work papers and filing documents are adequately reviewed in a complete and timely manner, including the establishment and/or on-going maintenance of detailed process documentation for each task (i.e., pro forma adjustment, tax rate reconciliation, etc.).  Supports Analysts and Staff to develop an understanding of the technical aspects of their assignment, but also how that assignment fits into the overall strategy.
  • Assists with identifying, developing, and implementing continuous improvement opportunities.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum education required of the position

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience. 
  • MBA or CPA highly preferred.


Minimum experience required of the position

  • Sr. Staff Analyst:  Minimum 3 years' of financial management, regulatory accounting, revenue requirement determination and/or highly related experience. 
  • Desired candidate will have a minimum of 7 years’ experience in the electric utility industry.
     

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position
Knowledge and experience in the Regulatory filing arena. Understanding and knowledge of utility/FERC accounting, tax, revenue requirements and Rate Design. Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to build effective teams. Excellent communication skills (oral, written, and listening) and ability to communicate effectively and professionally. Ability to deliver effective feedback. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
