Job Summary/Purpose
The Senior Manager of Operations Lighting will lead a service organization to provide lighting solutions to residential, commercial, government and industrial customers. The organization will oversee the successful execution of installations, billing, maintenance, operations and special project execution and change management and partnerships with lighting vendors and monitor the operational performance of the utility's lighting offerings. They will work directly with the operating companies, operations, supply chain, billing and other stakeholders ensuring customer satisfaction and efficient construction and operations of lighting solutions in all participating operating companies.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Product Support and Operations:
- Oversee the lighting installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting guidelines to support the sales and customer service teams during normal operations and after incident response events.
- Work with operations and engineering to develop and implement consistent lighting operational practices and processes to ensure a sustainable lighting business
- Monitor and streamline the processes for lighting order fulfillment, product delivery, and customer installation and support and ensure proper billing. Identify and address any operational bottlenecks or inefficiencies that could impact the customer experience or the overall success of the lighting products and services.
Product Operations Management:
- Lead cross-functional product development teams to identify, evaluate, and select new lighting technologies and solutions to add to the utility's product portfolio. Ensure these products address the evolving needs and preferences of residential, commercial, government, and industrial customers
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with lighting manufacturers, distributors, and other industry partners to secure favorable terms and access to the latest technologies
- Establish robust product lifecycle management processes to continuously monitor the operational performance, customer satisfaction, and market competitiveness of the utility's lighting offerings. Make data-driven decisions to enhance, update, or retire products based on changing customer demands and industry trends
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators, such as design and construction backlogs, customer satisfaction, and return on investment, to continuously improve lighting operations
- Manage the budgets and financial performance of lighting operations
- Own or oversee pilots and project execution and change management plans on lighting roadmap with cross-functional deliverables
Product Strategy Support:
- Support the collaboration of the product and operations team to provide input on the technical specifications, performance, and compatibility of new lighting products being considered for the product portfolio
- Support regulatory engagement and development of documentation, tariffs and testimony necessary for existing and new lighting products offered by the utility operating companies
Minimum Requirements
Minimum education required of the position
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or related field or equivalent experience
Minimum experience required of the position
- Proven (typically 6+ years) progressive experience in operations, engineering, construction, project management or product management.
- Experience in leading and developing people.

- Proven track record of supporting growth and strong customer relationships
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with managing internal suppliers and external product vendors
- Understanding of outdoor lighting operations and customer and market dynamics
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong financial acumen and budget management
- Willingness to travel
